hotels galore in Nha Trang by richiecdisc Getting a room in Nha Trang is more of a hassle than it ought to be. We arrived after dark as we took the day bus from Hoi An up the coast. It would have been easy enough to just take the room the bus dropped us off at but it not only looked dirty but was also on top of what appeared a noisy late night pub. It might have been a brothel come to think of it….lol. Anyway, we ventured out on our own and were immediately besieged by numerous cyclo divers touting various hotels. We went with one to his brother’s place and soon enough another one took us to his brother’s place. Needless to say, there were lots of cyclo drivers with brothers that owned hotels. Surprise, surprise. We ended up at the Oasis.
The room itself was nice enough, with a view of the ocean and at $8 a night for a double, a relative bargain. The owner was almost as irritating as the cyclo driver. I guess it must run in the family. ;) Theme: HotelPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: 64B/12 Tran Phu in Nha TrangPhone: 058 524181Directions: Right on the beach front though to find the entrance, you have to go down a dark alley...or just flag down a cyclo driver/brother for a ride.

brass urns at the Hue's temple ruins by richiecdisc Sometimes the bus brings you to a nice place and Thai Binh II was just one of those places. The location was great, close enough to attractions to walk and convenient to the bus in and out of town too. The rooms were a bit on the cold side but it was miserable weather so sure it’s not so bad when the sun is shinning. It was only 250,000 dong (less than $16 for two nights for a double room).
The front desk staff was by far the nicest of any hotel we stayed at in Vietnam. Of course, they tried to sell you tours but they were not pushy about it and when I asked for some particular local foods, they send me to truly local places, not posh ones for tourists. They made our stay in Hue much better than the weather dealt out. It is still close enough to walk to them and cheaper to eat on this side too.

The woman who runs this hotel is incredible. The value of this place is equally so. The owner speaks a few languages including English and French and offers up great information about your options for adventure as well as a host of other import info gems. Beautiful, clean rooms with modern bathrooms (dual-flush toilets), marble countertops, comfy beds, satellite TV, stocked bar fridge (try for the second floor DBL with the balcony, it’s very nice). My only complaint with the room was that, unless you’re an early riser, it may be a little noisy come 5am.

I am fully attracted to this guesthouse and it can be ranked as the best one I stay during the journey. It is a place more like a museum. It is a place with everything from Chinese culture. It is a place where I receive the best and warmest service and treatment. It is a place I have never experienced before. It is more like a home......
The best collection of Chinese stuff, the best waitress with an angelic heart, the best location in town. Even you can't spend one day here, you should at least pay a vist. Theme: Pension/GuesthousePrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensive

by we2364 It is a guesthouse in Mui Ne(as I dont find the location of it on VT). I find it occasionally by having the jogging in the early morning on the main(and the only) road of the town. Had a funny experience with the landlord by practising my very limited French which I only learnt for one month before this travel. Can you tell how's my French??? We have to use gestures, and finally end up by knowing the price of the house. It is the inner side of the guesthouse. There are probably only 3 to 4 rooms inside. Likely, it's a family-run business.
A green and super quite environment. The room is quite nice, large and even with some decors which differ from many others. It has a good view to the beach. A great place to spend honeymoon in Mui Ne if you want to have the whole world in tranquility for two only. My boat by SirRichard If you go for a tour in Halong Bay, U have 2 choices to stay overnight: - Sleep on board - Sleep in a hotel in Cat Ba Island. I chose the first, though is a bit more expensive, is a highly advisable choice. First, you can leave your luggage in the cabin as soon as you embark, so it is more comfortable. Second, you can take a shower after bathing in the sea without sharing the shower place with the rest. Third, you can have a drink and relax on the upper deck after dinner, under the thousand stars, in the magical silence of the quiet bay at night!!! The cabin is double (though I was solo and got the same double), with a bed, a fan, and a shower. Theme: OtherPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than average

The view of the backpack street by we2364 The nice thing about travelling around SE Asia is being cheap where Vietnam makes no exception. There is always a street for backpackers where you can find cheap, clean guesthouses. Off the main street, we find a guesthouse called Mimi with the cheapest cost of the accommondation at USD2 per person (two of us share). The room is quite small with some basic utensils but absolutely clean and even has a American Standard toilet a Panasonic water heater. We stay quite comfortable in this cosy guesthouse.
A toilet in American Standard and A water heater in Panasonic at the cost of $4 for one room. Theme: Pension/GuesthousePrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensive

I stayed in the Victoria hotel in Hanoi. Situated in the old quater. It was very quaint and probabaly my most "upmarket" stay in Asia. I payed $11 for a double but the rooms where huge, had ensuite, cable TV and it was also a sinh cafe operator. by skydivefred I stayed twice in this hotel. I've always been vey satisfied with the service and owners who are very helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are basic but very clean. I am not going to give you the address because the street doesn't even show on a Hanoi map!!! A room price is about $7/8. a night One more thing, it is situated in the very centre of Hanoi (Hoam Kiem district)
Because it is in a secondary street, the place is very quiet (silence is very rare in a town such as Hanoi). If all the rooms are booked the owners will help you find another, similar in price, hotel. If you Email them to book, they can arrange to pick you up at the airport providing you tell them your arrival time and flight number.
