How to use the toilet
This wonderful sign was attached to our toilet seat in the dormitory of Haiphong Teachers Training University. The squat toilets are more common in Vietnam than the Western toilets, so maybe the instructions are useful... So no standing on the seat! Ok?
Haiphong is a large port city in Vietnam. It is a about 2 and a half hours by train from Hanoi (this is the easiest and most efficient way to get there). There are noticeably fewer tourists here, even though Halong Bay is so close. There is a lot of French influenced architecture here, especially the Post Office and the Railway station.

"Some other wonders"
There is not only landscape and relaxed cruising in Halong. You can also do some trekking in Cat Ba Island, or stop at some caves to explore.
The main caves are the "Cave of Marvels", a huge cave, artificially lighted, with a enormous interior.
