a cosy mini-hotel

A minihotel, well actually two, in the Co Giang area... nice spacious rooms, oriental furniture and quite clean... not exactly spotless but acceptable. The best asset of these two mini-hotels are the people who work there... very helpful and friendly.

Unique Quality: We had a really nice room in a nice hotel but in a really terrible location. Co Giang is definitely a dump... very central but dead at night. Rooms rates start at 20 dollars a night. When we returned to Ho CHi Minh we knew better, and chose a hotel in the Dong Khai area... it's a more pricey area, but much more lively and interesting.

A restaurant with some rooms

I needed to use the internet for a long period of time so I booked the Bee Saigon for two nights. It was nothing special. The staff that work the hotel also have to work the restaurant down below and they had so much to do with the restaurant they couldn't really pay any attention to the hotel. They made it seem like it was a huge inconvenience for them that I wanted to sleep in one of their rooms.

Unique Quality: They have a great free breakfast menu, I think. I looked through the menu and then selected a bowl of noodles with chicken and a pineapple shake. They brought me a bowl of noodles with beef and a coffee.

The Bee does have ADSL connections in the room for $3 US extra a night. But several of the restaurants in the area offer free WiFi.

The Bee is probably only for overflow from the Bi Saigon, which is a few doors down the alley, on the same side.

A: "I would try Benh Tanh markets: they seem to have just about everything else there. The fresh produce section is at the back."
