Excellen value for your money

The hotel is within 15-20 minutes taxi ride to major areas of interest. The room is clean but small. The buffet is a mixture of Asian and Continental cousine. There are n restaurants, bakeshops, banks nearby. Walking distance to the lemograss restaurant.

A well-located 2 star hotel

On our second stay in HCM we had decided to choose a hotel in the Dong Khoi area rather than the more popular (but cheaper) Co Giang. We were really happy with it, especially since we found much more to do and see at night without having to catch a taxi or a xe-om.

Whereas Dong Khoi is lively and buzzing with activity, Co Giang was much more like KSR in Bangkok... a backpackers trap with cheap tourist restaurants, cafes and shops... and not much else.

Unique Quality: The rooms were correct... nothing too fancy but comfortable, even if not too spacious. There was also air-con, a TV, minibar and a hair-dryer, although this is not much different from the standards in toehr hotels.

it's a bit pricier than hotels in the Co Giang area, so I guess you pay more for the location than for what you get.

Good location, nice rooms

Stayed at the Bong Sen for four nights in Feb 05. Recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travellers and the rroms were better than expected for the price ($70 AUD per night).

Highly recommended

Unique Quality: Breakfast buffet not for everyone, lots of traditional Vietnamese food

Plan B or C

First option was Rex, but because of Sea Games 2003 there was no room. Actually narly every middle class hotes were full.

Service was very rude and room rates were at least twice times as much as normally. Cheapest room was more than 50$, normally it would be 20$ and something.

Unique Quality: Nothing unique, just hotel among others.

Cheap Saigon Hotels

Bong Sen 2 is only 20 USD per night for a double. The rooms are not bad at all and include 2 twin beds along with an attached bathroom. This rate includes a nice breakfast with eggs made to order, all in a dining area attached to a 6th floor balcony overlooking the streets. The front lobby is nice and the staff courteous and professional. At night they lock the door, but a few sharp knocks will wake up the staff so they can decide whether to let you in. The hotel is in the heart of Saigon's nightlife district and is a good value for the money.
