A suitable place to start from

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on November 24, 2009

I stayed here in Nov, 2009. I paid $51 USD total for 3 nights ($17/night) includes breakfast plus free airport pickup with 3 night stay. Large room with A/C, CableTV, some English channels, WiFi in room (becoming common now even in lower budget Saigon hotels.. Excellent location to start with, BUT, it is the backpacker area & furnishings are a bit old. Still, clean and comfortable, very quiet rooms in back w/window, helpful friendly staff.

Unique Quality: Has a lift, always a plus in this area. A good deal w/the free airport pickup service. Other than that, rather typical for this price in the Pham Ngu Lao area but does include breakfast, many do not.

Directions: In the heart of Backpacker Area, District 1

A Nice Homely Hotel

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on November 7, 2004

The hotel is small and very homely... staff are extremely helpful... service and facilities are very good... nearby and within short walking distance are post office, banks and licensed money changers... good and cheap restaurants as well as numerous travel agents for inter-city coach tickets as well as cheap local and out-of-town tours... this is part of the backpackers area...

Unique Quality: The room is clean, big and spacious... the room that i have has a balcony and faces the New World Hotel and looks down on the extensive park grounds.... facilities include satellite tv..

Directions: The hotel in the midst of the backpackers area... less than 10 minutes walk to the Ben Thanh Market... facing the city park..
