Dragon Palace Hotel: Good food, smiling staff, comfortable place

I really had a good time here. The staff has been wonderful helping me out. The restaurant has a nice view and the food is GREAT! It is a bit pricey though since it is a 3-star hotel but I am sure it's all worth it :)

Graceful Saigon: Okeish budget hotel

I quite liked this low budget hotel in the so called backpackers district called Graceful Saigon even though it was located along a really busy and noisy party street. The couple we were travelling with were unlucky to have a room facing the street. It was really noisy in the room in the evenings - almost as if the window had been open as it did not keep the noise out at all. We were luckier since there was hardly any noise at all, but then again we had no window.

The room was located on the 4th floor and there was no elevator. This wasn't a problem for us since the male receptionist carried our bags upstairs. The only problem with the hotel was the noisy neighbours (bars that stayed open until late) and the drunken hotel guests who came in late at night, slammed their doors as they left their rooms or knocked on other guests' doors because got mistaken which floor they were staying on and shouted in the stairwell - primarily Brits or Aussies. Probably not the best choice if you are looking for a quiet budget hotel.

Vy Khanh Hostel: Feel at home!

Vy Khanh Hostel is one of the sweetest places i've ever stayed. The services are great. You can request for an airport pick up (just let them know) and it's for free. They recommend English tourist agencies at affordable prices and the tour guide will just pick you up in the hostel. There's a computer in the ground floor that you can use for free. The rooms are clean and spacious. Toiletries, towels are hairdryers are readily available inside the rooms. Each room has airconditioner, refrigerator and TV. Most important of all, each room has its private bathroom.

Check in: 12nn Check Out: 1pm

The owner- Ms. Vy and her mother (who prefers to be called as "auntie") are very hospitable. Auntie is so sweet in offering cups of coffee every morning. Everytime we arrive in the hostel feeling tired and thisrty, auntie would knock on our doors and give us cold juices. There's never a time we were not asked on how our day turned out. We really felt like we were at home.

Unique Quality: Vy Khanh Hostel is located in Pham Ngu Lao of district 1- the backpackers area. it's near to the tourist attractions- ust a few minutes walk to the Ben Thanh Market, Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, Independence Palace, etc.

Palace hotel

It's very easy to book hotel both in Saigon and Hanoi with that budget
In my opinion, you can stay at Palace hotel or Duxton hotel in Saigon (in downtown area, around 70-90USD)
For the hotel in Hanoi, you can book at Hanova hotel (35-37 Hang Trong Street, the room is quite small but so beautiful,I always booked for my boss in his business trip)
Hope my information is useful for you

Unique Quality: good

Kim's Place Hostel: nice cheap with breakfast included

A nice homely hostel located just off the main Bui Vien street, free breakfast served before 9am and TV and air conditioning in the rooms. $6 a night!
Be wary when booking rooms in advance in Saigon often they get double booked, so turn up early.

An Tinh: Hotel an tinh

This is cheap sex hotel - rooms by the hour and the towels on the bed, not in the bathroom and no closets
Some rooms are kind of dirty looking.

However, its cheaper than average and really good wifi - reliable internet!

Unique Quality: Average hotel. Fairly clean but kind of cheap and sparse some rooms are not so great looking
250.000/ day,, cheaper by the hour
