Cheap but Great for Price
by THLIN
The room basically includes everything that you need, from private shower, hair dryer, refrigerator, air con, and so on. It is clean and not too small in terms of single room size. You will find it okay with the price you pay.
However, if you really care about privacy, this might not be a great choice since it locates in resident area, which can be a bit noisy, but still okay if you close your curtain tightly.
This place locates just next to very famous backpacker centre in district 1 (Sorry, I cannot remember the actual name). This is very convenient if you look for transportation to next destination or tour arrangement.
Unique Quality: Free wireless Internet service; delicious free breakfast (but not enough); good service and nice staffs, who are willing to help.

SIMPLY THE BEST!!
by triplehelix
My stay here was fantastic and it wasn't just the clean rooms and relatively good location, it was the staff!! Two of the most adorable girls I've ever known run the reception desk namely Smiley and Yummi. They speak english very well and will help you with just about anything. The rest of the staff were amazing as well.
More about Saigon Mini Hotel
Saigon Mini Hotel a real find
by TripAdvisor Member DKB-LA
We arrived at 1am and had I not read beforehand that this was in an alley I might have missed it. We stayed in the Saigon Mini 2 which is across the alley from the main hotel. We had a spacious (very spacious) room for three, a balcony, free wifi, a safe (which is important to me), comfortable beds, excellent air conditioning, free breakfast—at less than $40 US per night for 3 people. Being in the alley there is no street noise and the staff is very friendly and helpful; they helped us with tours and to confirm our return flights. Plus there is excellent security should you feel uncomfortable about the alley location. Personally I loved the location—it gave character to the experience. For a budget hotel this was primo!
A welcome Oasis in the middle of District 1
by easterntrekker about Saigon Mini Hotel
We were very happy with this hotel and stayed would definetly stay again. I was concerned about itslocation which was described as being on a quiet alley off the main drag. The "alley"is lined with little cafes and lots of people always there enjoying some food and drink. The hotelstaff are very friendly and even packed our breakfast " to go"for our early morning bus trip. Nice King size bed ,AC and shower. Quite a deal at $35.00 a night.

by call_me_rhia about Bi/Bee Saigon & Bong Sen Annex
Bi/Bee Saigon mini-hotel: two delightful minihotels with great staff in the Co Giang area, which is really a bad location... It's very central, very touristy but dead at night. About 20 dollars for a double room.
Bong Sen Annex: a 2 stars hotel where we stayed when we returned to HCM. Pricier than the first address, but in a much better part of town, close to good bars and restaurants. About 40 dollars for a double room. Bi/Bee Saigon: the first place we stayed in HCM. A really nice room with great furniture and wooden floor, air-con and TV. Basic bathroom.
Bong Sen Annex: an OK room, nothing too fancy but comfortable, even if not too spacious. There was also air-con, a TV, minibar and a hair-dryer.

Boutique hotels/guest houses are now at every corner of this bustling city. However, finding one that is clean, secure, friendly staff and suit your budget is not easy. This is where this boutique hotel fills in. It is locating on the other side of the Pham ngu Lao backpacker central and about 10 minutes walk from the Ben Thanh market. The room has full of amenities such as cable TV, small fridge, phone, bathroom has it own water heater. Bed and linens are clean and comfy. Most of all, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They always provide service with smiles.
I have selected this hotel because of the positive reviews from another web site and I was glad I did.
If you like noise......
by hcosgrave about Saigon Mini Hotel 1
I stayed in Saigon Mini Hotel 1 twice in February / March 2010.
It is ideally situated in a side street very close to the backpacker area. The rooms are smallish but well equipped for the price.
However one major drawback - This hotel is very noisey. Whatever you do don't allow them to give you room 24. From early morning the maids (with their walkie-talkies turned to full volume) start dumping the used bedclothes on the other side of a thin wall - just behind your head. They also shout to each other in loud voices. They have another habit of leaving the walkie-talkies in the corridor for reception while they clean the rooms - effectively this blares up and down stairwells and into all rooms.
I went back for one night in March (due to the location) and specified that I did not want room 24 due to the noise. I was given a room on the first floor - The lower part of the bathroom window was not glazed but had a louvered timber effect. The bedroom/bathroom door also had a louvered timber panel - both to aid air circulation. However from early morning (6.45 a.m.) the garage right behind this window started doing metalwork with very loud metal on metal hammering. Even though I used technical earplugs the noise prevented sleep.
There was no walkie talkie noise on my second visit ( I had complained the first time )- but I suspect it was just the situation of the room rather than a change of w/t usage.
I would not stay in this hotel again.
Room good, staff great

Stayed at the Saigon Mini Hotel in February found the rooms to be good value for the price. Staff very friendly and helpful and the hotel is located centrally and close to all attractions, only problem where that the beds are a bit hard.
Great value, great location
by TripAdvisor Member Tezza71
Saigon Mini hotel is a great choice for those looking for a mid range option in the heart of Saigon's tourist district. We used this hotel several times coming in and out of Saigon from other parts of the country. The rooms are very clean, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel's location is ideal being down a small (and very safe) alley tucked around the corner from the main tourist drag. This enabled accessibility to the various cafes, restaurants bars etc while being away from the noise when you wanted to sleep. The breakfasts here were delicious with a selection of western-style omeletes or traditional Vietnamese Pho. The only thing to watch is if you are placed into Saigon Mini Hotel 2 (which is the same price as Saigon Mini). We had a room here for one night for the last part of our stay in Vietnam. It is marketed as being superior because the rooms have balconies, but in reality there is no reception (You have to go to Saigon Mini Hotel and then they walk you there), no elevator (steep stairs) and the bathrooms seem like makeshift closets with a simple toilet and shower (no where near as pleasant as the original hotel). Although the rooms are larger, they just felt like an old office or apartment that's just been converted into a hotel. Apart from that, Saigon Mini Hotel (if you stick with the original) represents great value for money and is a great place to stay.
Perfect Location, Eager to Please,More than Your Money's Worth

Staff was pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. I was pleased with the room. It was very clean and nicely furnished. In room Safe Deposit was a plus. A.C. worked very well. Location is perfect. It sits as close to the action as possible but just enough distance away and set back from the road as to eliminate major city noise which in H.C.M.C. is constant. Only a 2 minute walk to everything. You will get a good nights rest here. Liked the cleanliness of the hotel and the excellent staff the best. Least liked was that it can be hard to find due to its alley way location.

holiday aparments in HCMC
by salieri60
Hello,
I will be visiting HCMC in november for 4-5 weeks. Does anybody know where I can rent a holiday apartment for less than 1400 USD per month?
I have done a bit of research online, but the minimum price for this type of accommodation is over 3000 USD!!
Any suggestion highly appreciated.

You should be able to find a decent 3 star hotel within a few blocks of city center for that price, but most apartments lease for a 6 month minimum. You might get lucky if you stay in a hotel for a few days and then look for a short term apartment deal.
