Muslim in Saigon
by hassan_abu
A small number of Muslims exist in Vietnam, and are mainly found in South central Vietnam, the Mekong Delta, and by the Cambodian border. Islam was introduced to Vietnam in the 7th century via Arab traders and later blended with local customs and religion. Islam is now mostly practiced by the Cham population of Vietnam, although there is a strong Hindu influence in their practice. Today, there are several mosques in metropolitan Saigon.
The Saigon Central Mosque was built by South Indian Muslim in 1935. 66 Dong Du, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Locals

To many of us, life in Vietnam can be considered quite tough. But local people are contented with simple life and needs.
This is one regular scene where some elderly people will enjoy good cup of brewed coffee and interact with pals at near by coffee joint.
I wasn’t too use to the low plastic chair and table at first. But I’m kind of getting used to after a few days.
Sharing a Bottle of Wine
by Aidy_p
No, this is not riesling, or shiraz, but your medicinal wine that is suppose to help those with rheumatism.
Locked in the bottle was a cobra and coiled around it, grass snakes, you'll need to take the wine twice a day. Other known useful herbs included in the bottle are ginseng and little red seeds.
So did I try it... Are you crazy???
Snake Wine
by Unknownsu
I think Vietnam is becoming very popular with the snake wine. almost everyone that i know who has been to Vietnam owns a bottle or two. Great for display and the envy of your friends. The 2-1.5 litre bottles set me back 10 Cdn dollars. Only difficult thing was explaining what they were to Canadian customs.
Levels of the Tunnels
by keeweechic
The tour involve a description of the tunnels, then tourists are taken down into a section of the tunnels. There are three layers, one where you are bending over to walk, the next you are crouched and it gets even less on the 3rd level. I had to come out - for the first time in my life I found I was slightly claustrophobic. Truly amazing though.
At just over 5'2", I was crouching at the first level.
Location: About 75 km northwest of Saigon.
