Spectacular hotel very close to everything!

    by

NOTE: I think this hotel is now called "Hanoi Elegance Sapphire"

The staff here is outstanding! We were checked in by a guy who told us he was a trainee. His english was perfect and he was easy to understand. Had he not told us he was a trainee, we'd have never known. The location is very near all the cool stuff you probably want to do if you're a tourist. Walk a few minutes in one direction and you get to the war museam (which I recommend), walk another directions for a few minutes and you get to the lake where the temples are, etc. Almost everything is walking distance. They were also very helpful with giving us directions to places and suggestions of places to see, eat, etc. The room was very clean and looked as though it had been remodeled rectntly. ALSO -- They have a computer terminal in every room which is FREE! How awesome is that -- especially for people like us who decided to leave our laptops behind. Oh, and they also helped us out with things like "how much is reasonable to pay for a taxi or cyclo and how much is too much?" This came in very handy since those guys often start out WAYYY too high and we knew how low we should be able to bring the price down. Thanks for a great experience in Hanoi, Hanoi Elegance 3 Hotel. Cons - The building is very long and narrow. This means that only some of the rooms have exterior-facing walls and thus, no windows. There is a window that faces the hallway to make things feel a bit less clostrophobic. This wasn't really a big deal for us since we only slept and showered in there.

Unique Quality: There is a street food place on the corner about 100 yards (meters) from this place -- it's awesome! If you walk out the door of the hotel, turn left and walk down the street until you reach the corner. It's right there, on the corner closest to the hotel. I think they might only be there starting in the evening.

    Best Hotel EVER!

    by

Hanoi was the first stop of our month-long journey through Vietnam and I am SO glad that we chose to stay at the' Elegance'. It was the perfect introduction to a country that might otherwise have been quite overwhelming. The staff at the Elegance helped us to 'ease into it' so smoothly that from the very first day we felt totally at home, and culture shock...even for our little one, was hardly an issue. The staff here are priceless! They are the most genuinely helpful, thoughtful and kind people I have ever come across, from house-keeping to management and everyone in between. Nothing was too much trouble. All of our internal flights were arranged through their tour desk before we left Australia. Airport pick-up and drop off was punctual and the drivers used for the pick ups and our tour to Halong Bay (also booked through the tour desk) were helpful, cheerful and chatty...a perfect combination! Onward bookings were confirmed for us. After our visit to Sapa we were picked up at the station (at 5am) and brought back to the hotel (our 6 night stay was split) where we were given much needed coffee and looked after until an early check in was available. Restaurant bookings were organised for us. Water puppet tickets bought for us. Taxi's were hailed and given directions. Honestly...we were so coddled that I'm surprised I ever left! How this hotel only gives itself a 3 star rating I will never know...the service and atmosphere beats any 5 star I ever stayed at! The rooms were absolutely immaculate...breakfast served in the dining room was delicious and always presented with a smile and a chat. I could go on and on...but you get the drift.

When we were leaving the hotel the manager himself came and asked us how our stay was and if there was anything that we thought could be done to improve on the service. We could think of absolutely nothing. It was perfect!!!

Great Hotel with Awesome Service and Location

by TripAdvisor Member ncapital

Hanoi Elegance 3 is a great hotel especially for the price. We stayed there for 3 days and nights recently in March. The staff is super nice and helpful. They all spoke English. The rooms were very clean and had computers with internet in the room. The free breakfast was very good as well. The location is right in the heart of the Old Quarter close to all the good shopping. I felt very safe and did not feel like anyone at the hotel was trying to make tips off me. I would recommend this hotel over the highly overpriced Western chains (Metropole, Hilton). You get a great feel of being in the center of Old Hanoi with the comforts of a Western Hotel.
Would definitely stay here again,

Elegance it is

We originally stayed at the Golden Sun, which was a great location but nothing compared to Elegance 3 in terms of comfort, cleanliness and service.
We heard about Elegance 3 from an Australian woman we met on our Junk cruise to Halong Bay. Although they could not accommodate us the first night upon our return, they set us up with another hotel next door and assured us we could have their most expensive suite on the next night at the same rate as their regular room.
This hotel is three months old. The fixtures in the bathroom are exquisite. They have plasma TV, free internet, and a safe in each room. Our honeymoon room was on the top floor with a private veranda served with free fruit and bottled water.
The manager was a sweatheart and helped arrange our next excursion and transfer to the airport.
I highly recommend this hotel. We paid $40/night but guaranteed the rates will increase as the hotel becomes more popular.

"Great little hotel"

by TripAdvisor Member eliza40

Stayed at the Elegance 3 for 2 nights and thought it was the best hotel we stayed at in our 3 weeks in Vietnam! The rooms are lovely and clean and tastefully decorated. In room computer a big bonus to keep in contact with our family at home. Staff are great and the hotel is in a good location. Dan organized our pickup and transfers to the airport and our domestic flights all before we arrived. All went like clockwork with out any problems. Good value for the price!

Great hotel

by TripAdvisor Member Stepalex

Booked through their website. Good location, very nice room with an Internet PC. Fresh fruit basket every day. Breakfast, though not a buffet, was plentiful and delicious. The only remark - though is seems to be a standard thing for Vietnam - is that hot water supply is barely enough for one person to take a shower, then you have to wait. I recommend arranging a transfer from/to the airport with the hotel, as it costs 14 USD only and you'd pay much more if you take a taxi.

Gostei muito!!

I have been a guest for 7 days at this hotel, which is excellent. Service is world class, every member of staff, from the cleaners to the manager, are very friendly and helpful. They quickly solve any problems and, as the hotel is new, their facilities are excellent. Room service has not been fully implemented but the breakfast options are very good and varied. I loved this hotel and hope to be able to stay there many times in the future...

Great hotel in Hanoi

by TripAdvisor Member gark2

We stayed at the Hanoi Elegance Hotel 3 from 21st to 25th March 2008. The hotel looks quite small from the street, but when we enter the hotel, it looks quite nicely decorated and the interior is clam from the hustle and bustle of the street, in fact we cannot hear the street noise from the lobby. We were given a drink, and our passports were taken away for half and hour or so from them to fill in our particulars while we go to our room, there are no forms to be filled with is great. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and very friendly on a personal level which rivals other 5 stars hotel we travel extensively. They treated us like friends instead of guests.

The room is clean and nicely decorated, with a platter of fresh fruit daily. They manage to make the rooms (even those at the back) have some natural lighting by clever use of air and light wells. The breakfast is more than adequate although it is not a buffet, however the dining area tends to be quite crowded during 7.00 am to 8.00 am since most tours takes off at about 8.30 am. At one particularly crowded day, we have to wait about 40 minutes for our breakfast to come since there is not enough sitting area, but the hotel staff is gracious enough to quickly pack up breakfast to take away when our tour guide has arrived.

The location of the hotel is very good, it is just a short walk to Hoan Kiem lake (about 15 minutes) and is also near to restaurants and street food with a plus of having a convenience store nearby. We will definitely stay here again if we come to Hanoi again.
