Great stay at the Holiday Hotel in Hanoi

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Holiday Hotel in Hanoi over Tet. Even though the city was shut down for the holiday, the hotel staff was friendly and offered advice about where to go for fireworks and continued to serve breakfast (we heard some hotels didn't offer breakfast during Tet). The Internet was fast, rooms were large, the showers had hot water (but not shower doors so the water sprayed all over the bathroom), and the hotel was in a great location. I'd easily recommend this to anyone looking for a budget guest house ($30) in Hanoi.
Good Location

Good location, breakfast included but average. Staff are friendly but dont speak great English. You can book tours from there, we booked a Halong Bay tour which was great and actually was the same boat that they showed us. You can leave your luggage there no prolems if you do a tour. Room was $20 a night, no window, but is quite noisy as you here everyone walking up the stairs. Earplugs good idea if your a light sleeper. When we came back from Halong bay had a different room, bathroom was only a hole in the wall but we had a massive window overlooking the street.

I booked two rooms in that hotel per email. I received a confirmation. When we arrived, there was just one room available. They told me there was an available room in an another hotel in the same room. It was late, so we had no choice. The nextdoor hotel wasnt clean at all, in fact it was an ugly place.
The second night we slept at the holiday hotel and booked a 3 days trip to halong bay at the front desk. We asked them to book 2 rooms for us when we'll be back from halong and to keep or luggages until then.
When we went back from halong bay's trip to holiday hotel, the front desk guy told us they're wasnt any reservation on my name, and of course no available rooms. Moreover, they wanted to charge us extra charges we already payed. So, what i've learnt is that u cannot trust people running that hotel!

I booked the room directly from the lady boss - Huyen via Holiday Hotel website. The enquiry emails are duly responded by Huyen. Huyen is a very friendly and helpful lady boss. She tried her best to solve my doubts and arranged Sapa trip(including train ticket from Hanoi to Lao Cai) for us before we reach Hanoi. The hotel provides several local tour packages at reasonable price. We booked Sapa and Halong Bay trip from them. The trip is fun and great :)
The hotel location is great because we can visit Hoan Kiem Lake and shopping at Old Quarter Street within walking distance.
The hotel staff are as helpful as their lady boss. They did provide us very good hospitality services.They recommended us where to visit and where to search the famous food at Hanoi. They even help us arrange reliable local taxi to Ho Chi Minh Musuem. Really appreaciate their treatment to foreign traveler like us .
The room we stayed are big, clean and well-maintained. The room is well equipped by air-con, hot shower and TV. The Internet services at Holiday Hotel is above standard.

We enjoyed several nights' accomodation. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well kept. Huyen was exceptional and planning our itinerary and flexible when it became necessary to make changes to our plan. We are more than happy to come back again.

Before me and my wife went to Hanoi for the first time we had been
warned several times for rip offs, cheating and stealing from hotel
staff and salesmen along the streets.
For a 20-50USD Hotel as Holiday Hotel we were very surprised. Free
drink after check in, including breakfast, nice and clean room with
street view. Free TV and WIFI in room and a location in the center of
Hanoi's old town!
But the best of all, the staff, they fixed everything about, taxi,
roundtrip etc. without any interruption or misunderstanding. I forgot
my mobile phone but the staff come running after me with my phone.
So we can highly recommend the Holiday Hotel at 24 Hang Nanh st.
We will be back!

Very well decorate rooms in a convenient loction. We went for the "deluxe package" and when you consider free breakfast and transfers , the price was excellent. Would stay again,

I would recommend the hotel. It was really good, the room I got was really small but for £10 a night it's really a great deal. People there were very friendly, especially the guys, the lady (boss) was ok but not so friendly.
We also had some problems like losing our clothes (stupid laundry, but they changed to a new one) and we had to move to another hotel nearby for a night (which was a bit annoying) but overall it was really good.
You should get a receipt for every time you pay, even for laundry or renting a motorbike/bicycle as sometimes they don't keep track on those and you might end up paying twice. Other hotels are the same so just be careful.

What a fantastic hotel

Excellent service and help from staff who were always smiling, greeting us, and extremely keen to help if we had a query. We were upgraded to a family room which was excellent, roomy and very well appointed and decorated. As well as the usualy hair dryer, electric jug, tv and dvd player, it also included a mini stereo and a newish computer with internet. The breakfast was beautiful and more than catered for our preferences. This was all for only US$30 per night! In 2 weeks travelling in Vietnam, the Holiday was the best hotel we stayed in and wished we could have stayed longer. Would recommend this hotel to every one
