    As a business traveller, I was pretty happy with this hotel. Although my company being a major corporate client of theirs could also be the reason why they were so accomodating.

    Especially good also for muslim travellers because the hotel can be asked to make special meals for you and it is also nearby to some Malaysian restaurants. They can also provide a basket of amenities like prayer mats, a Quran, chart of prayer timetables etc. in your room, for your convenience. The Front Office Manager, Angeline Khor, is Malaysian herself.

    My wife and I stayed at the Melia Hotel because I need to attend a meeting at this hotel. This hotel is located at the French Quarter area south of the Ho Hoan Kiem (Lake of Restored Sword). It is a 5-star hotel and one of the best in Hanoi. If you are staying at the upper floors, the views of the city is fantastic because there are not many tall buildings in Hanoi. Also, the breakfast buffet here is very good with lots of variety of food, and the cakes and pastries are very delicious because of the European chefs. Apparently this hotel has hosted many VIPs (including royal families, prime ministers, presidents) when they were in Hanoi. See part 2 for the rooms.

    The double room which I stayed at the Melia Hanoi hotel is big and has all the facilities which you expect from a 5-star hotel. The view from the room is also good because we stayed at the 7th floor. There are many TV channels, including cable TV which kept my wife entertained while I was having the meeting. The staff of the hotel are very good and courteous, and can communicate in English well.
