Great little place in the old quarter
I arrived in Hanoi fairly early in the morning after arriving on an overnight bus from Hue and found this place in the Old Quarter just along the road from the Memorial House. The area is full of everyday life within its narrow streets with lots going on within shops, markets and restaurants, made even more busy as I visited Hanoi during Tet (the Vietnamese lunar New Year celebrations). This small hotel is well located, just to the north of the Hoan Kiem Lake which is the main tourist/backpacker area and so is handy for restaurants and bars. I had a room with no external window but it was very nicely furnished with a nice, comfortable double bed with cushions, a/c, wardrobe, 2 chairs, small table, fridge, TV, and a nice, clean modern bathroom which I managed to get down to $15/night. This price also includes a simple breakfast plus the staff are very nice and friendly.
