Car and Driver fo Hire

by rsuem

I am looking for the best place (internet address) to hire a car and English speaking driver for a trip round trip (1-day) from Vung Tau to Saigon.

Instead of a car/driver, why not just take the Hydrofoil from HCMC to Vung Tau? It's 120,000VND each way and takes 1 1/2 hours (car will take around 2 1/2 hours). Here's the schedule.

Travel Tips for Vung Tau

Beaches

by Unknownsu

Didn't spend too much time here but did get to walk along the ocean. Remarkable experience altho I'm not the beachy kind of person. This is a great place to have a beer, listen to the waves and just relax your life away!

Vung Tau beach

by kokoryko

When you pass by the Con son island, leave the main road and walk on a small hill, to see the great beach of Vung Tau from above. Well, from far, it is just a beach: long sand shore, people bathing in the small waves, hotels and buildings on the seaside. . . and. . . boats, I mean real boats, used by fishermen, a little bit of real life is still left there, apparently; the boats look funny with the big wheels underneath (picture 2), to trail them into and out water easily, and there were workers on the little ships. A bit further, chairs and umbrellas, like on most of beaches. . . . well, the umbrellas did not need to be opened when I was there (picture 3).. . . . I like the empty beaches. . . . it is so quiet. . . but you can see from the number of chairs and umbrellas (picture 4), that in the good season, there may be quite a lot of people! And on the beach are not only sunbathers or wave bathers. . . . What did this dog think about the foreigner passing by? (picture 5)

Laugh with people at the market !

by kokoryko

The scents, the colours, the shapes, all these things I do not see in my every day’s life. . . I love to visit markets, see the people, the busy vendors, the way they display what they sell, the shouts and laughers of the people; there is life in the markets, and I am never bored when visiting a market! And in South East Asia, it is even more exotic to me! And people are really kind; when you ask if you can make photographs, they rarely refuse! I just enjoyed the smiles of the poultry meat vendor, the lady who prepares small crabs, the vegetable seller. . . . And also there is a very familiar atmosphere, the mother of the laughing lady on picture 4 is sleeping confidently, and the ladies on the last picture found funny I photograph them when one was massaging the neck of the other. . . . Just familiar life. . . . !

I just liked the look of this.It will probably look better when its finished

"Jesus Christ"

This is overlooking the previous picture.those black dots on his shoulders are people.I kick myself now for not going up there because the view must be marvellous

"Independence Day"

This was a national holiday. It felt like the whole of Vietnam was there. The reason its called long beach is because its long.My friend and I walked as far as you can see along the beach and more. The people here are brilliant
