Open Air...

This resort has nice clean big rooms, with the choice of closing the door and using the air con or upon up to the fresh breeze and use the provided mosquito nets. Across the road is plenty of tour operators so you can walk across the night before and book what you want to do the next day. There is a cheap laundry place about a 3 minute walk down the road. The internet here is extremely slow, and one instance where the receptionist even provided us with wrong information. Also, during the 4 days that i stayed here, one of the pools was closed for 3 days with a sign stating 'cleaning in progress' but there was never anyone cleaning it! (it was still clean!)

In a nutshell, stay here is you like doing things your own way, at your own pace and just want to soak in the sun in a relaxed environment.

Unique Quality: With the Rang beach in the backyard, two pools, a gym and a library, in house recognized spa/massage, western restraunt with beach views and even a little section for the kiddies to play I don't see what this place doesn't have!

Open Air...

While nothing was new or lavish, they rooms were clean, neat and had plenty of room. They have a/c along with a mosquito net for piece of mind sleeping. A minor thing but I recall the hot water dying out after about 10 minutes, minor because usually its too hot to have a hot shower. Internet connection is extremely slow at the front desk while hotel reception had their moments where they were sometimes they wonderful and helpful while other times provided us with incorrect information. Its situated along the main street and you can simply walk across the road and book a tour or get your clothes washed.
Overall, this place is great to stay at if you don't want to be bothered and like to do things on your own.

Unique Quality: With the Rang Beach as your backyard, 2 pools, the restraunt with the beach view that serves a great westernized breakfast this place says 'just relax'. Very tropical with all the palm trees.

Best Resort in Mui Ne

I've been to Mui Ne 3 or 4 times now, and I've stayed at several places each time. Hands down, Bamboo Village offers the nicest accomodation. If you're not on a budget, I recommend staying here.

Unique Quality: Bamboo Village offers air-conditioned huts right along the beach. There's nothing nicer than waking up in the morning and stepping out your front door to the blue waters of the South China Sea.

Don't worry, there 're a lot of guesthouses in Mui Ne. Go there and choose on your own. Sea Breeze's not so bad. It' cost US$60 - US$100 to bring your things to Mui Ne by car. Ask your resort, i'm sure they can help.

Travel Tips for Phan Thiet

Local Wicker Fishermen

by DSwede

I do not know the name of these boats, but they are the standard for the local fishermen.

Sometimes they are manned by one person, sometimes two. They fishermen stand in these large, round 'boats', paddle themselves into position by using one paddle, and proceed to drop their fishing net lines.

After a short time, they will go back out and recover their nets and catch.

The boats are woven from dried palm leaves and then coated by some sort of pitch or tar to make them water tight. Newer ones are made from fiberglass.

Trineo en las dunas-Sledge in the dunes

by elpariente

In Mui Nearea there are some impressive dunes with a colur and viewsthat you must see them, spetially at down and sunset
When you reach the dunes you are assaulted by children that want to be tour guides with their sand sledge under their arm and after choosig those that will acompany you you go to walk in the dunes and to slide on the sand

Lotus Lake

by easterntrekker

At the base of the White Sand dunes there is a Lake we are told is Lotus Lake.
Actually we found out later, its really a combination of three lakes and some small ponds. The name refers to the mass of lotus plant that grow in the shallower parts. I'm sure they are a sight to see when in full bloom.

Phan Thiet-Mui Ne

by NeverGrowOld

Located in Binh Thuan province, Phan Thiet is about 200 km from Saigon and lies south of Cam Ranh Bay on the southernmost stretch of Central Vietnam. It is famous for its Nuoc Mam (fish sauce), a seasoning used in Vietnamese cuisine. As a tourist you might be interested in its picturesque scenery of Mui Ne beach (with sweeping gold sand dunes, palm & coconut trees, turquoise sea…) which is located 24 kilometers northeast of Phan Thiet town.
