How is the pandanusresort in Mui Ne?

by misscookie

Hello, anybody stay at this resort before ? :http://www.pandanusresort.com. The pictures look very nice and I am thinking about booking it for my Mui Ne trip.

The Pandanus is next to the Dunes which is about 15 mins + from the main drag on the beach so if you were looking to go out at night a bit tricky. Also it's not on the beach so you would have to travel for water sports etc. My reccomendations are the Sailing Club, young and trendy (favorite expat spot) or The Beach next door, bit more family and a bigger pool

Getting from Phan Thiet to Ho Chi Minh airport

by HelloKitty96

Last question from me this evening! Most comfortable non-extortionate way to do this transfer during a Saturday morning? Looking for as direct as possible with all our luggage. Journey time? Approximate cost? We will be travelling from Blue Ocean resort to the international airport needing to arrive around 10.30am. Thanks.

Re: Getting from Phan Thiet to Ho Chi Minh airport

by Stepwalk

The buses from Phan Thiet to HCM cost around US$6-10 but take anywhere from 3.5-4.5 hours depending on who you go with so you'll have to leave early! I have heard of a bus that leaves Phan Thiet at around 2am arriving in HCM at about 6.30am but only runs in the peak season.

If you want to make sure you get there on time, get a private car as the traffic jams going over saigon bridge can cause some big delays

Thanks for your reply. Do you have any suggestions of reasonably priced reliable car people?

surf and beaches in vietnam

by bruceandbarb

hey everyone..
we are an older couple from perth considering travel to vietnam in mid february and would like to stay at a beachside hotel, preferably near the surf.

we assume that the south is the place to be for warmer weather at this time of year.

would greatly appreciate any help on good hotels....near or on the beach...and info on where there is surf...if any..

cheers

Hi Bruce & Barb

Nha Trang is a great place to stay. They have loads of hotels along the beach. For really good surf you could try a place a bit further north called Doc Let. I'm not sure what the accomodation's like there though as we only went for the day.

I would reccommend Mui Ne beach which is near Phan Thiet town. It attracts a more sedate crowd than Nha Trang. The beach is nice with a surf that roars all night long. We stayed at Blue Ocean Resort which is right on the beach. The resort was nice with many restaurants across the road. There are several resorts along this stretch of beach with all of them on the beach front.

I lived in Vietnam for a couple of years and wanted to warn you not to stay in Danang at the Furama. It is a gorgeous hotel, and close to the lovely town of Hoi An, but the currents are very strong and not suitable for swimming. I think you would be better off in Nha Trang (which has gotten more built up but has good sea fod) or closer to Ho Chi Minh City.

Travel Tips for Phan Thiet

Ta Ku

by Gili_S

Ta Ku is about one hour trip + one hour of mountain climbing if you don't chose to use the cable car. As often I do, I rather climb up and take the cable back down as so we did here.
There are some temples and holly sites to visit here as well and the very famous lying Buddha.

VISIT "ELYSIUM"

by NeverGrowOld

Have you ever been in elysium? There's 1 place in Mui Ne like that in Mui Ne-Phan Thiet, RED SAND CANYON. Let's go there and discover yourselves, ok? Just rent a jeep with about US$20/half day and tell the driver that Red Sand Canyon is one of the places you want him to take you to. Or simply rent a bicyle/motobike and ...go :)

Phan Thiet - Mui Ne Beach

by kenningst

"Off the beaten track"

Most people who are backpacking around Vietnam either coming from the north or from the south will be smack of choice between 2 places when coming to this part of town. 1 is to Dalat and another to Mui Ne. I choice Mui Ne because I wanted to get away from the tourists as Dalat is quite a famous tourist spot. Partially is also because the mates I was travelling with at that time also wanted to go to Mui Ne.

Although this place has nothing impressive to offer, you do find some things that might be of your interest here.

Those in the picture has really made my trip to Mui Ne so enjoyable and fun! Thanks guys! You guys are great. That is why I always believe that it is not where you go, but who you are with. God Bless!
