by misscookie
Hello, anybody stay at this resort before ? :http://www.pandanusresort.com. The pictures look very nice and I am thinking about booking it for my Mui Ne trip.

The Pandanus is next to the Dunes which is about 15 mins + from the main drag on the beach so if you were looking to go out at night a bit tricky. Also it's not on the beach so you would have to travel for water sports etc. My reccomendations are the Sailing Club, young and trendy (favorite expat spot) or The Beach next door, bit more family and a bigger pool

Hi
Yes Padanus resort is not in the centre. You can try Blue Ocean resort - 3star resort in the centre of muine and very good service

I vote for Sailing Club & Cham Villas.
Getting from Phan Thiet to Ho Chi Minh airport
by HelloKitty96
Last question from me this evening! Most comfortable non-extortionate way to do this transfer during a Saturday morning? Looking for as direct as possible with all our luggage. Journey time? Approximate cost? We will be travelling from Blue Ocean resort to the international airport needing to arrive around 10.30am. Thanks.

The buses from Phan Thiet to HCM cost around US$6-10 but take anywhere from 3.5-4.5 hours depending on who you go with so you'll have to leave early! I have heard of a bus that leaves Phan Thiet at around 2am arriving in HCM at about 6.30am but only runs in the peak season.

If you want to make sure you get there on time, get a private car as the traffic jams going over saigon bridge can cause some big delays

Thanks for your reply. Do you have any suggestions of reasonably priced reliable car people?
surf and beaches in vietnam
by bruceandbarb
hey everyone..
we are an older couple from perth considering travel to vietnam in mid february and would like to stay at a beachside hotel, preferably near the surf.
we assume that the south is the place to be for warmer weather at this time of year.
would greatly appreciate any help on good hotels....near or on the beach...and info on where there is surf...if any..
cheers

Hi Bruce & Barb
Nha Trang is a great place to stay. They have loads of hotels along the beach. For really good surf you could try a place a bit further north called Doc Let. I'm not sure what the accomodation's like there though as we only went for the day.

I would reccommend Mui Ne beach which is near Phan Thiet town. It attracts a more sedate crowd than Nha Trang. The beach is nice with a surf that roars all night long. We stayed at Blue Ocean Resort which is right on the beach. The resort was nice with many restaurants across the road. There are several resorts along this stretch of beach with all of them on the beach front.

I lived in Vietnam for a couple of years and wanted to warn you not to stay in Danang at the Furama. It is a gorgeous hotel, and close to the lovely town of Hoi An, but the currents are very strong and not suitable for swimming. I think you would be better off in Nha Trang (which has gotten more built up but has good sea fod) or closer to Ho Chi Minh City.
