Is this Egypt???
No it's not Egypt. These sand dunes are a short drive away from the hotels/resorts in Mui Ne. Play a prank on friends and relatives back home and tell them you've taken a detour... all the way to Egypt.

Which is the nicer stay? Have heard good things about Dalat and Nha Trang but guide leading us to Phan Thiet instead. Opinions?
To be honest, Dalat while beautiful can get a bit dull. Nha Trang is a great beach resort town, diving swimming eating seafood, while Mui Ne beach is not as nice as NT and it is purely resorts (Phan Thiet itself doesn't have much to offer
One option I did was to drive up to Dalat, stay a couple of nights then drive down the (very steep mountain) and down the coast to Mui Ne

I can't say you are missing much by not going to Dalat. We had a lovley few days in Nha Trang nice beach fun boat trips and time to relax.
thank you. Im leaning that way.
Mui Ne is a nice little place but not a lot to do there - we were there for 3 nights and that was long enough and then on to Nha trang (2nd time there) we love it there - it's a city of around 300,000 and most of the hotels are on the boulevard which is 6 kms of beach.

Guava was another of the tourist style restaurants in around the resort. It seems to be one of the popular and crowded ones and it seems there was stress at work for the waitresses and owners. The food was not that great either so we didn't come back to this one.
A pocos kilómetros de Mui Ne , se puede ir en moto(taxi), a visitar unos cañones de tierra y rocas que tiene unas formas muy interesantes
Few Kms. from Mui Ne , you may go by moto (taxi), to visit a canyon of sand and rocks that have very interesting forms
A must to see - visit the red sand dunes at sunrise and then on to the fairy springs...we walked for about 1 km in the shallow waters of the river..the locals call it "walking on the water" really beautiful landscape and colourful rock formations.
This resort is situated in about 10 acres of beautifully manicured grounds..the bungalows are really spacious with huge patios for each unit.
There was always a lot of activity going on right next door to the Seahorse..the boats all return from their nightly fishing trips and it's really interesting watching them go about their daily business.
