Depending on how much luggage you have (suitcase vs. backpack, etc.) taxi between DaNang and HoiAn is always possible, but a scooter taxi may be cheaper. Alternatively, there is a public bus that goes between the two. I don't recall the exact pick-up in DaNang, but it is near the Green Plaza Hotel. Go there and ask the bellmen, they should point you to the right place.
Alternatively, there are pick-ups at the bus terminal on the northwest side of DaNang.

I have tried searching for this question in previous posts but didn't come up with to much.
I am travelling through Vietnam in January and am planning on using the open tour bus line from Sinh Cafe but... We are planning to go to Danang (which is inbetween stops on the bus line) so are wondering whether we go straight through to Hoi An and then take a taxi or local bus back up to Da Nang? or.. Take a taxi/local bus from Hue to Danang and then again to Hoi An and recommence our open tour bus trip from Hoi An?
If anyone has any suggestion i'd love to hear them!

I took a bus from Hue to DaNang for about $4USD (don't remember, but it wasnt more than that). Any hotel in the area will book this for you. But I recommend shopping around to different travel offices (there are hundreds of them) and get the best price.

On one trip I took a tour bus ( similar to open tour ) from Hue directly to Danang. Once in Danang I took taxi to Marble Mountain and then local bus to Hoi An. All was very easy and cheap. On a return journey we caught a local bus from Hoi An to Marble Mountain - had to have a second look here - then a taxi into Danang - an easy trip.
A taxi from Hue to Danang wouldn't be too cheap....I caught the train from Danag to Hue on my first trip.
You can negotiate fares on taxi and buses were very cheap.
