Fine New Danang Hotel

This is a great value. Minh Toan is a new hotel just opened in July of 2006, so while it might technically be a three-star hotel (no pool), it sparkles more than many four-stars hotels. I think its a wonderful bargain with clean, new, fairly large rooms in the $20-30 per night range -- including breakfast, tax, service charges, and free internet. The staff is extremely kind and eager to please. The friendly young men and women at the front desk speak some English, so if you are patient and explain your request slowly, they will do everything possible to help you. You might want to ask for a room on the 7th floor (or 6th or 5th) because higher floors can get the sound of chairs being moved on the uncarpeted floor of top floor restaurant and bar.

Unique Quality: The hotel is located about a $1 (five minute) taxi ride from the heart of downtown. (The Cham Museum and the beginning of the riverwalk is even closer.) Also, the hotel is located on the south (Hoi An) side of Danang. Hoi An is a $12 taxi ride from here. The hotel has a little bar/terrace on the top floor (12th) with a nice view of the city and river. Also, its restaurant is on the 11th floor.
