More about My Khe Beach Hotel

mykhe beach hotel danang

by hanspeter_W. about mykhe beach hotel danang

My Khe Resort is 2km far from the centre of Da Nang city, located at the lovely My Khe beach with fresh atmosphere, which is suitable for tourist. The security, clean and beautiful scenery and friendly service will satisfy you when you stay at the Resort.

My Khe I hotel is located on a street along the beach, 6km far from Ngu Hanh Son (5 basic elements Mountain) and 25km from Hoi An.
While staying at the hotel, you can enjoy the spectacular sunrises and sunsets from the beach. You even can see Cu Lao Cham (Cham Isle) a well known tourism isle in Quang Nam.

China Beach

by Blatherwick

This stretch of white sand beach was once the recreation base for many American troops during the Vietnam War. This then was the name on which the TV series was based. The whole stretch of ocean front is known as China Beach and that name is a fairly recent creation. What you see in the picture is really named Non Nuoc Beach. Here you will find many people selling China Beach souvenirs. However, many people claim the "real" China Beach of wartime fame is My Khe Beach which is 6 km from Central Danang by road.

Take note that the mountain that I am taking this photo from of Non Nuoc Beach was once the home of a VC hospital during the war.

Danang to Hoi An via beaches and Marble Mountains

by JohanIsWeg

What is the best way to arrange a trip from Danang to Hoi An, but via My Khe Beach (China Beach) and Marble Mountains?
How much time should you invest in this?

If you want do it yourself on a motorbike it is very easy. On the road from Danang to Hoi An you will pass Marble Mountains. China Beach is not so very special if you are not American. It is just the thought that during the war an American R and R centre was located over there. But if you want to visit this beach it is not difficult to find because it is on the other side of the mountains. The whole trip will takes you maximum half a day.
Veel succes

Thanks for the reply. You're right. Not really interested in the war. More interested in landscape. What would be the best beaches in this region?

Re: Danang to Hoi An via beaches and Marble Mountains

When going from Danang to Hoi An try to take the road along the coastline and i'm sure you will find the beach you are looking for. btw it not the same road you have to take if you are planning to go to Marble Mountains.
If you still doesn't like the beaches over there I advice you to go to Lang Co. That is on halfway between Danang and Hue. It is one of the more beautiful landscape of Vietnam

I just grabbed a taxi from the hotel for convenience. There were people turning up at marble mountain on the back of motor bikes but I wasnt quite comfortable enough to take that option on the roads there on what is around a 30-40 minute journey. I allowed an afternoon for the same trip and it was plenty enough time.

We used Vietnam airlines to fly from HCMC to Hue, then return from Da Nang to HCMC. Cost was US$165 one way for 2 people. We booked flights whilst we were there. We had the motel book us the tickets to Hue, and we did our own booking whilst in Da Nang. If you buy the tickets at the Vietnam Airlines Office, you will need to pay via cash, as they didnt take the credit card. There are plenty of ATM /cash machines, so we withdrew the cash from the credit card to pay.
We stayed at the Modern Motel, which was in the heart of Da Nanang, over looking the water.
There was alot of construction work in Da Nanang, so beware of where you decide to book as it maybe noisy and messy !
