Vietnam's 4th largest city
"Our first stop in Vietnam"
Though we did not stay in Danang but we were surprised that there is an international airport at central Vietnam. It is 2km west of the city centre, close enough to reach by xe om (motorbike taxi) in 10 minutes (around 10,000d or SGD1. A metered taxi to the centre is about 20,000d or SGD2.
Joke of the day - our Hoi An hotel driver claimed he picked up the wrong passengers but there were seven of us and he picked up three. We wondered if he was skiving or earning extra cash while wailting for us with the hotel's mini bus.
Our Vietnam's first impression - bad service but we did meet two kind Vietnamese who helped us called our hotel. They were station at the airport tourist counter.
"No aero bridge at Danang International airport"
No bridge - it's okay but the funny part is their airport shuttle bus ferried us from point A (plane) to point B (arrival building) for less than 30 metres.
"Our Hoi An hotel mini bus"
Finally, after some calling and waiting (about 30 to 45 minutes), our hotel mini bus arrived.
