Location, location, location

I have stayed at this property twice, once in June 2006(off-season) and again in July 2007(in-season). The first time it was very nice, the mini-suite on the 11th floor, under the small rooftop swimming pool, was fabulous for about $75/night, including a very nice free breakfast buffet. This room has a large picture window facing the beach with an incredible view, a little balcony over the street, a bathroom and a half, two minibars and a sitting area. The bathroom is very nice with a separate tub and shower stall.

The second time the place was packed, the room I was promised had been given out to another guest earlier so I got a similar room a couple of floors lower with less privacy and obstructed view. Of course, in 13 months the price had gone up about $10/night. The people were not as nice at the hotel and around town in general in July as they had been the previous June. They seemed sort of burned out with dealing with so many tourists.

That almost everyone who goes to the beach goes only between 5 and 8 both in the morning and in the evening is pretty unique. It is just so hot during the days and the Vietnamese have a phobia about getting any sun on their skin so only tourists are under the cabanas mid-day. The "Sailing Club" nearby the ASIA PARADISE Hotel has nice shade and bar service with very cold beer.

Unique Quality: Good, not great, breakfast buffet. Always a good idea to get there earlier than later for best selection of fruit and other items. Bring your own fruit juice, theirs is terrible. Buy a box or two of tasty juice, like the strawberry or apple, at a local store and keep it in your minibar and it bring with you to breakfast.

nice stay

The hotel is about 3 minutes walk (one block) to the beach. The sea view room is spacious and clean. There is a huge variety of dishes, fruits and desserts for breakfast which will please everyone. Taxi and motorcycle taxis are always available.

More about Asia Paradise Hotel

best hotel in nha trang, vietnam

by AnnPuddu about asia paradise

beautiful, well-kept rooms, many with fabulous view of the china sea. excellent, first-rate service...extremely comfortable beds, spotless and lovely bathrooms...splendid breakfasts...

the staff remained the same both winters i've visited nha trang (stayed at this hotel about six or seven times in two winters); the management is friendly and accessible. have always been greeted as a welcome returning guest...

the hotel is on biet thu street in nha trang, about a block from the beach. there's an atm right outside the hotel, a very good english language bookstore a few steps down the street towards the beach, and a wonderful restaurant on the corner.

South East Asia, paradise on Earth.

"If you travel, you must see this part of the world"

Okay, SE Asia: I have been there several times. The first time I was there, I went with my best firend who used to live in Singapore and he always spoke so highly of Asia. We decided to go and before you knew it, we were in Bangkok, Thailand. I got to be honest, the first few hours in bangkok scared the hell out of me, the culture shock was overwhelming, the noise, the smells, the people! I look back and laugh now, because I have come to love Thailand and the rest of the SE Asia are almost more than my own home country. I will retire there, that is for sure. I am already making plans to purchase some property and I still have like 25 years before i can retire!

to add to hethas advise,
Sarah is staying at a small hotel called dong phuong 1, which from her description is very cheap, basic, but has all that is required, and not far from the Asia Paradise Hotel, so not too far from the main beach strip.

Sarah recently moved to Nha Trang from England with her b/friend, who has a diving instructing job there, so she/they could be a good start for you as to up-to-date info and practical tips.
cheers
M

try Kon Dui (newly constructed about $10 long term)or similar boutique hotel.I have a friend who is staying at a great boutique hotel long term for $6 per night.
Nha Trang now is quiet and they are begging for guests so you are in the box seat.

Travel tip. you can easily buy Lonely Planet Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, China books and Phrasebooks for about US $3 (yes three dollars-if you bargain even less eg 40,000 Vietnam Dong) in District one in Saigon and all other tourist centres.Just walk along the street I the tourist strips…if you don’t stumble over their sidewalk stalls they will be chasing you with boxes of books for sale anyway!

Every guest house can be used as long term.

I pay $5 a night for staying monthly. Internet/cable tv/ fridge / room cleaned

there is building work going on all the time. There is loads of accomodation.
Pop over book in for a night and then do a walk around.

enjoy
