Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh

by angst

Hi,

Any suggestions on the mode of transport from Nha Tang to Ho Chi Minh? Preferably a night one so that i can save time.

Thanks!

We did that route 4 years ago, and what we did was to ride the night train. It was a great solution then, as we booked a "bed" there, so we arrived very early in the morning but rested and ready to enjoy the city.

Tickets can be bought at any travel agency, probably in the hotel where you are in Nha Trang.
Good luck.

The airport for Nha Trang is out of Cam Ranh Bay and is just a 45 minute flight. You might consider taking the last late afternoon flight. About $40USD. Taxi from Nha Trang is $12USD and bus is just a couple of dallars. About 1/2 hour vehicle ride to the airport.

Travel Tips for Nha Trang

nha trang beaches

by call_me_rhia

Nha Trang beach... a decent beach - but far from the hype of a perfect beach as people rave and rant... I found the city beach quite OK, just average, nothing too stunning, and for sure it lacked the promised white sand and turqoise waters. yet it's a convenient place for a swim, as it stretches all along town.

The water becomes deep after a few steps, so this beach is only suitable for good swimmers... it also tends to get a bit crowded. Watch out for your valuables while you are in the water... occasionally they seem to disappear. Finding a great beach outside nha trang, in the cham ra area... relaxed, laid back, and with better water and great waves (bah Yai beach)

Ears cleaned

by stedeb

There are plenty of beauty therapists around town and all are multi skilled as in most Asian places. However I have never seen "ear cleaning" advertised anwhere else!!!
Not sure if this is a custom tip or what just found if quite funny. Any otehr members notice the samet thing???

Breathtaking scenery on the bumpy way- Chapter 1

by ExoticGal

It belongs to Cam Ranh District, not Nha Trang. We used to have to travel 60kms to get to Cam Ranh in the past, but a new road was being built from Le Hong Phong Street so that it's only about 15 kms from Nha Trang city center.

It's worth the effort to suffer the bumpy road on taxi, because the scenery is terrific! My digital cam and poor knowledge of photography can't capture it all.

Food

by Willettsworld about Boat Trip

The boat boat-trip is offered by loads of travel agents and includes visits to four islands with much singing and swimming on the way. We stopped for lunch which was very good and consisted of prawns, fish, noodles, salad, bread and spring rolls which was included in the 120,000 VND price. Drinks cost extra.

mama hahns boat trip

by cachaseiro

mama hahns boat trips are world famous.
mostly because they used to include free marihuana.
the police have stopped that now, but it's still a very nice boat trip along a very scenic coastline and very beautiful islands.
the trip includes free food and snorkelling aswell.
vietnamse redwine is free too, but tastes absolutly awful.
you might wanna invest in some cheap vietnamese beer that tastes great.
the price for the trip is around 8 us dollars for the day, including food and wine.
