Nha Trang has a good party vibe & look to it.
Lots of water sports available like jet-skiing, jetbiking, parasailing, snorkelling, and there are lots for PADI approved dive centres all over town!
There are tour operators around town that offer excursions & day trips to the islands around, some of these include a floating bar - where patrons jump off the boat, followed by a member of crew who joins them with lots of red wine! You circle him (on a floating tyre) for your unlimited top-ups :-) There would alos be singing & dancing on the boat, plus an impressive buffet lunc. A must-do activity for sure ;-)
Good amount of bars, nice, wide, beach promenades, lots good amount of sightseeing like the huge Buddha statue located high uptown!
In fact, a lot of local honeymooners arrive at Nha Trang for some fun after spending a night or two at the romantic hill-station Dalat.

The Louisianne (sp??) is great, sailing club for drinks but our pick for food and atmosphere was "Oasis" its great, sorry can't remember the street name but if you find the Sea and Sun hotel (great hotel, best we stayed in, in Vietnam)and walk inland, look left at the 1st corner and thats it (even got to pole dance!)

In nha trang most hotels and businesses have the road between them and the beach except the sailing club and the louisiane restaurant/bars/entertainment.
On the beach are restaurant/bars/entertainment

Travel Tips for Nha Trang
How much did I spend?
by kingofsaigon
My trip to Nha Trang will never be forgotten, people come here from all walks of life and all spend differently. I happen to be on a backpacking budget.
Here is what I spent daily. Hope this helps
Hotel with a sea view balcony and 2 double beds at the Quang Vinh Hotel. - 300,000.00 VND per night ($16.50) There are cheaper rooms available...
Motorbike Hire - 100,000 VND per day ($5.47)
Full Tank of petrol which lasted me for 4 days - 50,000 VND ($2.73)
1 half litre of Beer at the Sailing club (The most expensive bar in Nha Trang, where all back packers hang out) - 30,000 VND ($1.64)
Traditional Vietnamese barbecue pork chop and rice food from a street vendor - 25,000 VND ($1.36)
2 litre bottle of water for the morning after - 8,000 VND ($0.43)
20 Cigarettes - 25,000 VND ($1.36)
Traditional Foot Reflexology massage after a long day of lying on the beach - 120,000 VND + 50,000 VND tip ($9.29)
Hanging out with the locals and really getting to know the people - Free (but priceless)
Please note the conversion rate from VND to $ were accurate at the time. Please check xe dot com for up to date rates. The food, the people and the weather. Just an amazing place.
Did you know the Vietnamese flag only has 1 star? It should have 5 just because it's a 5 star country.
Booze Cruise
by 34N118W
An alternative to scuba diving is a cruise around some of Nha Trang's nearby islands. Boats depart in the morning for full day on the ocean. Fare includes lunch, some cheap wine, and snorkeling equipment. You can sign up for a cruise at almost any hotel in Nha Trang. I think the fare is around $10.
Do you really need socks?
by kingofsaigon
Pack everything you need and then halve it! You will appreciate the space when you take back souvenirs.
Vietnam is a free market where you can buy anything. I paid an artist $40 to paint the Mona Lisa. For the whole time I was in Vietnam, not once did I wear socks. Nha Trang is so warm even when it rains. Anti Diarrhea Tablets, Rehydration Tablets and Anti Malaria tablets. Although Malaria is at a low risk in Nha Trang, all it takes is one bite...
Home away from home
by mango13 about 62 Tran Phu
Most of my time in Nha Trang, I ate at the restaurant attached to the equally named hotel. You don't have to stay in the hotel to eat here. The restaurant is outdoors (but covered), though there's also a possibility to eat indoors.
The people here are very friendly, and once even invited me over to join the family & staff for dinner... That might however have had something to do with the fact I was there so often, and even tended to spend my evenings there.
Still, it can't be a coincidence that both the friends I made in VN with whom I'm still mailing both work here (hello Thao, hello Oanh Thu). The place breaths conviviality, despite the many tourists (both foreign and domestic) it receives. Some Vietnamese even have their wedding here, and who can blame them with the high quality of the food, and the relatively low prices.
The Beach
by GottaTry
The most obvious thing to do in Nha Trang is go to the beach. The Vietnamese go there early in the morning and in the late afternoon avoiding the heat of the day. It is very interesting to go in the morning and since people go then to exercise. They even have aerobic type classes.
