new water park?

by jyzil

Is there a new water park in Nha Trang, or has it always been there or is there not one there at all?
I was there in 2005 and didnt see one. but when I looked at some of vietnams 360 degree landscape pictures..I saw what looked like a new water park.
Has anyone been here or know what I am talking about?
We going back in august and I thnk my kids will love a water park!

I spent 4 days there about 6 weeks ago. There is an old water park near The Sailing Club, it looks quite run down though still operating, we were told by an australian doing volunteer work there that she felt it was a little risky. However we did not go to Vin Pearl the Soffitel Resort that also has a fun park not sure if it has a waterpark section, but it is very popular, it is on an island you can see from the mainland. Hope that helps.

thanks, i will check it out when im there and decide on the risk.. we went to a fun park in xian, china and it was way risky..half way through an upside down ride they had to quickly stop it because the kids werent buckled in properly and were too small for the belts...everything was rusted, but as long as we took care of our own safety we could stil enjoy most of the rides..

I was there earlier this year back Jan/May/June and from my experience, I think it was only open on weekends. Maybe it was open all round but I didn't see anyone there during the midweek.

The new Vinpearl Island resort and cable car is open now as well so maybe that's where all the people were going to now instead.

Travel Tips for Nha Trang

Scuba Diving

by 34N118W

Whether you're a beginner or an expert, there are plenty of dive companies in Nha Trang to serve you. If you're an experienced diver, Nha Trang might be a bit boring as there isn't a whole lot of coral. Fisherman have destroyed a lot of it with dynamite fishing. However, you may still want to go for it to put another notch in your belt. Nha Trang is a great place to learn how to dive. It's much better than learning in a pool, but not so great that you feel like your missing out on something when you're busy doing drills. Most dive centers offer all levels of PADI certification.

Street life

by magor65

Walking along the streets of Nha Trang (actually other Vietnamese cities, as well) we can see local people at work. Their workshops consist of simple equipment and a few square metres of a pavement. The most common are dressmakers sitting at their sewing machines. Here and there you will spot a barber shaving his customer with a razor. Life here is much more open, exposed to the view of others.

small villages

a little outside nha trang you have small villages where life is still like it used to be in the old days.
it takes only half an hour to gat away from the tourist scene if you get tired of all the white people in nha trang.

5-dollar boat trip

by shintarojon

(last date visited - July 8, 2006)

Boat ride for 5 US$

The best boat ride I ever experienced in Vietnam!

- back and forth boat ride
- snorkeling gadgets
- free lunch
- lots of fruits
- with entertainment (improvised music)

Boat Route:
1) Mot Island for snorkeling - one of the most memorable things I ever done in my entire journey!!!

2) Tam Island
- entrance fee : 5,000 dong (not included in the boat trip rate)

3) Aquarium
- entrance fee : 20,000 dong (not included in the boat trip rate)

You can get/buy your ticket in Sao Mai Hotel where I stayed.

Chilling out on the beach.....

by Fondest_Memories

After a night of partying away....nothing is better than just mellowing out on the beach of Nha Trang....You can rent a captian's chair under a hay umbrella at one of the many beach front restaurant of Nha Trang for $10,000 VND roughly less that $1 USD. Beside being able to relax under sun, you can have your breakfast, lunch or snacks brought to you right no the beach from the restaurants. What could be better ?
