Hello Everyone,
I am planning to move to Nha Trang next April for work reasons (diving instructor).
Can anybody help me with information regarding prices and suggestions for long-term (months) accommodation: hotel or renting a flat?
What are the costs of renting a moped or a small car?
What is the situation of the diving business over there (seasons, salaries etc)?
Yes, quite a lot of questions...:-)
Thanks,
giabar
I suggest you contact or ask this man - he's a regular on Tripadvisor Vietnam (an expat who runs a small hotel in Nha Trang). Here's his website:

I stay in guest housees that have internet / air con / fridge / hot water etc for 3 million dong a month which is $150 US.
There are a few apartment blocks but not many, unsure of the price.
daily motor bke rental 60.000 / 70.000 / 80.000 so $3 to $4.
1$ is 20.000 dong give or take a 1000 dong.
Driving habits are very bad here.
Suggest you visit and experience before comitting money investment in a driving business.
Good luck

Between the seafront boulevard of Tran Phu and the beach, there is a park. It is where most of the local people like to promenade, under the shade of the palm trees. it's nice to walk along there for half an hour in evening or to go jogging through early in the morning.
Well, you can see the French have been there quite some time.
They learned the Vietnamese how to bake good bread.
It's cheap, very good and an alternative for the daily rice
Buy it on the street and help the local people
BY the way, this is one the picture I'm really proud of
A little more expensive than we have paid previously but well worth it. We had 4 dishes and 4 serves of rice needless to say we couldn't finish all of it. Can't remember what we had but they were all good.
I only managed to make 3 dives because of our tight schedule and they turned out to be great! I enjoyed the muck dives very much. I got to see sea horse, pipefish, flounder, scorpionfish, lionfish, eels, grouper, shrimps, sweetlips, butterflyfish, clownfish (nemos) and many others. Do check out my travelogues for more underwater photographs.
The underwater visibility averages 15m but can be as much as 30m, depending on the season (late October to early January) is the worst time of year). There are around 25 dive sites in the area, both shallow and deep. There are no wrecks to dive on but some sites have good drop-offs and there are a few small underwater variety of soft and hard corals and a reasonable number of small reef fish.
There are many dive shops or centres in Nha Trang. Do check out my Sports Travel tips.
