Originally named Quang Trung Reservoir, Hồ Tuyền Lâm is not a lake as the name wrongly indicated, but rather a reservoir created in 1982 from the water of Sông Đa Tam and Suối Tía. Even though it is an artificial lake, Tuyền Lâm is nothing but artificial in beauty. Fragrant pine trees and gentle waterfalls surround the lake, and with Núi Voi (Elephant Mountain) and Núi Phụng Hoàng (Phoenix Mountain) within hiking distance, this breathtaking landscape is one of the best in Đà Lạt. At the moment, the people in charge of Tourism and Commerce Department in Lâm Đồng Province are working furiously to make Hồ Tuyền Lâm the center of a luxury resort. There are many horrors to be seen in the future of this working dam, including miniature images of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Taj Mahal, and the pyramids. Therefore, if you want to see the last of Tuyền Lâm's natural landscape, you ought to hurry and visit it soon.
