Vinh Hung Resort
Staff in the restaurant were very slow in delivering food ordered, poorly trained and unprofessional in manner. Breakfast was also limited. Hotel management unsympathetic, and failed to deal with basic issues of concern raised by a few guests. Four star hotel supposedly, but one star service levels in the restaurant. Wouldn't stay here again and certainly wouldn't recommend it.
Unique Quality: Also known as Vinh Hung 4 by the locals. Modern hotel with nice rooms and outdoor pool. Located about 5 minutes walk from main part of the town beside the river. Quite a bit of noise from river boats early in the morning.

Vinh Hung Resort
The Vinh Hung has 3 hotels & one resort. 3 hotels all are fine at nice price while the resort is sparkling with absolutely worth more than your money. I stayed there for one night and feel very relaxing with the superior room. It's large 2 times than rooms in hotel 3* in Hanoi or Saigon. Garden & swimming pool at riverside is lovely.
Outside of the resort, many Laundry services & motorbikes/ bicycles renting services at 5$/motorbike per day and 1$ for bicycles. Price from 40US$

Best of both worlds in Hoi An
After exhaustive research on TripAdvisor and Virtual Tourist, we decided on the Vinh Hung Resort. Since it was the last leg of our Southeast Asia trip, we wanted a four-star hotel with a water view. We got a "Japanese Style" deluxe room with a gorgeous balcony right on the river for US$75/night. This was expensive compared to our US$9 guesthouses in other towns, but a steal for resort of this caliber and cheaper than similar resorts.
We had a hard time deciding whether to stay near Cu Dai beach or in town. The Vinh Hung resort seems the best of all worlds - the only 4-star resort within walking distance of town and with a view of the river. We checked out the Hoi An Beach Resort, which looked nice and appears to be the closest resort to the beach. But in comparison, the Vinh Hung Resort was cozier, the gardens were prettier, and the river view prettier. The Hoi An Beach Resort seemed like the type of place frequented by numerous tour buses and even though I'm a beach girl at heart, I didn't regret our choice.
The level of service, professionalism, and friendliness was wonderful. A nice respite from the overwhelming number of people in town approaching you to buy something.
The room was beautiful. The fact that we were in one of only 4 such "Japanese Style" rooms (I think we'd gotten upgraded) made us feel that much more pampered.
When we first arrived, there was a complimentary bottle of red Dalat wine and a fruit basket. We got fresh fruit and pastries in our room daily. The breakfast buffet (included) was nothing to write home about but filling nonetheless.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this resort and can't wait to come back!

Vinh Hung Hotel
This is one of the most famous "chinese style" hotels in Hoi An. It means it is decorated in old chinese style. The rooms are charming, though not "modern" in the western style...
In the best of these rooms were filmed some scenes of the film "The Quiet American" with Michael Caine. I went to ask for a room but they were full. But anyway I had the chance to see this room and is really charming... so old stylish!
It costed 60 USD.
Unique Quality: They have now another building in the modern town (Vinh Hung 2), more modern, but not so charming...

I am wanting to know anyone who has stayed at the 'Resort' as opposed to the Vinh Hung Hotel 1 or 2 or 3. There are 3 Hotels and 1 Resort so 4 Vinh Hung peoperties altogether, the resort on riverfront is the one I am intersted in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
