Recommendation for the Holiday Hotel Hue

My family arrived in Hue amidst a heat wave and thought we could never be cool again. That is until we moved into our rooms at this hotel. The air con was brilliant. That was our first reaction. After cooling down we realised what great rooms we had for the small price of $15 per double. Big beds, exceptionally clean, very tiny (I mean tiny) lift, DVD players, much to the glee of my grown up daughters, real (seperate) shower.
The beds are the most comfortable I have slept on since arriving in Vietnam two weeks ago, proper pillows, mattress etc.
The hotel is down a airy light alley so noise is at a minimum.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly at all times. They provided cheap laundry services and bus tickets to Hoian @ $5 pp. I am sure they offer many other services as well. Breakfast was basic but fresh.
The hotel is situated on the South bank of the Perfume River about 2 blocks from the main backpacker area.
Excellent Hotel with no faults

We really enjoyed our two nights at the Hue Holiday Hotel. The staff were excellent, especially the young lady at reception who was most helpful with information around Hue and tours, transport etc, and the room we stayed in was very clean and provided excellent value; at $15 a night we had all the mod cons, including a DVD player (there's also a small DVD collection in the lobby) and even a hairdryer. The location is fantastic, its close to all the attractions in Hue and some excellent restaurants, and being in a lane way it was very peaceful at night. Breakfast was adequate serving eggs or jam with baguettes along with coffee and juice. Wifi is readily available. This would have to be the best hotel in its price range we stayed at during our travels through Vietnam. If we return to Hue, we will surely stay here again, and we will be sure to recommend this to all our friends and family.
Great hotel

This hotel provided terrific service both in terms of the facility which was new, clean and convenient and in terms of the service which included friendly, helpful staff and a bright comfortable breakfast area. Free internet is always an added bonus. On the day we checked out, the staff gave us a spare room to relax in for a couple of hours prior to our afternoon flight out of the city.
Great Location

We were recommended to this hotel by the Orchid Hotel as they were completely booked. We were picked up by taxi at the Holiday Hotels cost. The staff were great and most spoke english really well. The rooms were really clean and basic and the air conditioners worked well.
We especially liked the location as it was right in the heart of it all.
There was also free internet with 2 computers located in the lobby.
We arrived with 2 of our children aged 4 & 6 which did not change the room price.
I would rate this hotel as a 3 star but one of the best ones I have stayed in whilst in Vietnam.

We found this hotel very helpful, great location too with a very cheap and reasonable price. This hotel is very new and they provide great service and a friendly, welcoming smile. We bombarded them with questions about tours and transport and they provided us with accurate and trustworthy advise. I would definately consider coming back again.
Good hidden hotel

We were not impressed at first with this hotel because it is located in a small lane, a couple of blocks away from tourist area. This salesman/ receptionist/cook...came to us when the tour bus stopped and offered a view. We thought it was not hurt to take a trial, and we were right. This is small, new and very clean hotel. There is nothing special about the location, so the staff is willing to reduce the rate to make up for the disadvantage. We got the room @ the rate of $15/night instead of $25 as "officially good deal" offered by the staff. Breakfast & internet access are included.
The staff is extremely helpfull and nice. They work hard and seem very happy with their work. They can provide accurate information about show, tour and destinations.... of course except the price - you are on yourown with the bargaining skill :)
We rent a scooter for a day and booked a car to the airport thru them. All the services are excellent. I don't mind coming back there again :)

We enjoyed the Holiday Hotel. The location is really convenient but being down an alley means it is nice and quiet. The rooms were clean and fresh and were complete with a DVD player and cable tv. Breakfast was ok but we preferred to eat out as there are lots of restaurants nearby. The internet was broken while we were there due to a typhoon the day before but they have free wireless and 2 free computers in the lobby in normal circumstances. There was a mistake made over the price for our train tickets but I didn't notice this until we had left for Hanoi - just one email and they immediately arranged for me to collect the money at their hotel in Hanoi, really excellent service.
Great Hotel

Reservation was arranged by a travel agent in Hanoi. We were picked up at the station as arranged. As we arrived early in the morning - no room was available. A room became available prior to check in time & was made available to us.Room was spotless, light and airy, nicely decorated. Everything worked - we were provided with an adaptor so we could recharge our camera. Rose petals strewn on the bed made for a really nice touch. Staff efficient and friendly. Breakfast the usual - with frest fruit as well. Hotel is in a great position - quiet.
Wonderful place - excellent value for money

We stayed in Hue for 3 nights and were most impressed with this hotel. We had a room up towards the top of the hotel that was light and airy. The room was beautifully clean and the furnishings almost new.
We arrived early in the morning and had a free pickup from the station. The staff made us most welcome whilst we waited for the room to be cleaned - gave us breakfast and information about Hue. All the way through the stay the staff were very pleasant and couldn't do enough for us.
Mly only gripes were that the prices of their tours were a little on the high side and that they could do with more umbrellas given the amount it rains in Hue.
It is down an alley and has a very good restaurant/cafe at the start of the alley called Blooms. As well as doing excellent pastries, this place does excellent Vietnamese food at resonable prices. It also does Western food but this did not seem such good value.
