In Hue
by call_me_rhia about Ngoc Huong Hotel
Ngoc Huong Hotel is a beautiful 3 stars hotel with rooms priced at 30 dollars... it's kind of new and it has a nice breakfast room on the top floor... with great view over the city. We had a nice spacious room with a very confortable bed... very clean, too and with all necessary commodities, including a hair-dryer. If you forget something at home, like toothbrush or comb, you are sure to find it here... there were loads of "bathroom gadgets" to use.

I've been checking reviews and no one seems to have much good to say about any of the hotels there. The only two that seem good are the Abalone and Pilgrim Village - both out of town. They are apparently about 4 km away. Is transport into town readily available? Help would be much appreciated.

We stayed at the L'Indochine Hotel whilst in Hue about 2 1/2 years ago. This was in a good location. Cost was US$20 per night. They also had a nice restaurant that served nice meals at reasonable prices.
The address is 02 Hung Vuong St. Hue. I think they rate a mention in the Lonely planet guide. We didn't book in, so on our 2nd return visit whilst passing through we had to take the cheaper rooms out the front. These were still acceptable. The main building rooms were confortable and clean, and breakfast was included in the upstairs dining room.
Transport isn't a problem in Hue, as like the rest of Vietnam you can always get a lift on a bike or cyclo around town.

Thanks. I'll have a look at the Indochine and Ngoc Huong.
