Travel Tips for Canberra
Clean and healthy

See the parks, both internal to, and outside of Canberra! Tidbinbilla Nature reserve, among others, have beautiful nature and excellent hiking trails. Also, just drive around Canberra and walk the various parks.
One word of warning: Canberra recently had a particularly nasty bushfire that nearly wiped out entire outer suburbs. Many of the parks, including Tidbinbilla, were badly scarred. If you plan a trip, leave it for 6 months or so (until July 2003 onwards) to give it time to regenerate.

Canbeera is the Brunt of many a joke in this Country and klnown as boring in terms of night life .
Despite this I kind of liked it.

I spent the good part of 2 days looking around it and found it a emotional experience >I'm the first generation in the Last four of my family not to have gone to war ,though I am now married(wasn't last time I was in canberra)
so thats like war isn't it lol. My fondest memory of Canberra was knowing I don't have to live there .
Just kidding I found it to me a pretty city and quite as aposed to out right boring.
I found it to have a safe family feel about it

Around Canberra you have some lookouts that offer some nice views around the nations capital, as you can see, it is a very lush area, and its in a nice spot, though they can work on the nightlife of the spot.
Tulips at Floriade 2001

Here are some more pretty tulips from the 2001 Floriade show...
At the end of the flower show I'm told they dig up the bulbs and sell them fairly cheaply to anyone who wants them! Unfortunately I haven't been there at the right time of the year yet...maybe this year?!?
Australian FEDERAL police

In every state there is a State Police Force. eg; NSW Police
When your in Canberra they have the Federal Police.
In other states Federal Police are reserved for my bigger issues Such as Customs, Border protection etc
I must say Federal police are allot tougher than state police force

A: "i am pretty sure the buses take you close to the war memorial and to old and new parliament houses - they are closish together
