The walls around the front desk and fireplace are covered with autographs by visitors. The room between the fireplace and dining room has now become an autograph room. It also has historical pictures and Barrow Creek memorabilia collected over many years.
The hotel desk and mini-market are just inside the north entrance door. This is where we met Michael who had been on the winning battle boat at the Henley-on-the-Todd boat races in Alice Springs. This is also where much of the interesting history of the Roadhouse is displayed. A 2004 article in the Sydney Morning Herald talks about some of this history.
The covered fuel stop is west of a separate building on the north side of the Roadhouse. The garden is in between the two buildings and is shaded by tarps. The north building has an open-air room with a pool table that has seen better days.
The entrance to the Barrow Creek Roadhouse is on the north side of the main building. Use that door to pay for your fuel. There is also a window on the west side where you can get service or buy items from the mini-market.
