Big Four Alice Springs: Fantastic Caravan Park for Kids

by OutbackAdventurer

First Impressions - Helpful, Friendly Staff.
Campground with Ensuite - FANTASTIC! Clean and had grass!
The laundry was reasonable at $4 a wash and dryer $1 per 7 minutes (kids = laundry)
The Jumping Pillows, Game Room, Television Room, Basketball Court all made them and us very happy.
The grounds are well looked after and upon our second shorter visit the powered site was even bigger than the ensuite and shared toilet/shower clean...did I say clean?

The staff in the grounds are friendly, approachable and happy to please.

Great Staff, Clean grounds and just a wonderful experience all round!

Sky City: Darwin's Casino Hotel

by bumpychick

We chose to stay at this hotel, not because it was attached to the Casino, but because it offered great value for money, being a '5 star' hotel. Our room and the hotel itself were very attractive with fantastic sea views, there is a lovely swimming pool and lots of options for drinking and dining as well as, of course, the casino. This, unfortunately is where our problems arose. There are no bar or restaurant areas that are specifically attached to the hotel, seemingly it is all part of the casino. Therefore in order to have a drink or something to eat in the hotel, you have to abide by the casino dress code / rules. The hotel reception staff said it would be no problem for my husband to wear sandals in the bar, but the Casino security would not let us in and were very rude in the process. We hadn't brought closed in shoes on holiday with us so that was it!
Needless to say, my 'guest comment card' made interesting reading!
WARNING: Bring shoes.

Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn: nothing if not unique!

by bumpychick

The obvious feature of this hotel is that it is shaped like a crocodile! When you are actually in the hotel that isn't apparent, unless you look at the fire escape route maps on the wall. The accommodation and hotel facilities are of an average standard, they have a large dining room which has an 'eat as much as you like' buffet as well as an A La Carte menu.

This hotel was qiute pleasant, but don't bother to stay here just because it's crocodile shaped; unless you want to tell people you have! It's location in the centre of Kakadu national park is a bonus.

Kings Canyon Resort: Kings Canyon

by bumpychick

This ia a 'motel style' hotel, basically in the middle of know where! The blocks containing the rooms are very spread out with covered wakways in front of them. The rooms were of a good standard, although not particularly unique. They have different standards of rooms to suit different budgets which is a really good idea.

The best thing about this resort is the barbeque grill where everyone sits at long tables at bench seats, and you can enjoy(?) some local, live entertainment. The atmosphere was really good and the alcohol cheap! There is a more upmarket restaurant, but we didn't try it.

All Seasons Oasis: Alice Springs

by bumpychick

This 'hotel' was really mich more like a motel. The rooms are in motel type blocks, with reception in a different building. When we were there the restaurant wasn't open and their didn't seem to be a bar! The hotel website says it is just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. It took us 15, and we walk fast!
Rooms were OK; The first one they offered us had sliding doors on to the carpark, which didn't lock. We asked to be moved to a first floor room, which wasn't a problem.

Annie's Place: Alice Spring's ultimate retreat

by spydy

My short stay of 3 days in this hostel really blew me away! the staff were friendly, courteous, helpful and not forgetting, good-looking! They were also very nice & patient. The rooms were clean, toilets spacious. Excellent location too, the town centre is about a 10mins walk, they also have rental of bikes and yes, please book your alice springs tour with them. Mulgas Adventure tours! 5 Star fun!

if cheap and good food's your deal. Hop on in! Fivers! Fantastic Chicken parmagiana with Chips & salad, Fish & chips, Mulga's Salad...all at a yummy $5. I had very good dinners & drinks right here, without having to step outta the hostel. and top that up with a $3 melt in your mouth mudcake with ice cream! Fabulous! prices now may vary tho...but still, it was Bloody good.

Kings Canyon Resort: Accomodation Near Kings Canyon

by Dougy

The kings canyon resort is about 7 miles from Kings Canyon itself. The resort has a pool and a bar and restaurant.

If you can get one of the roms with the spa, the large spa batch is next to a picture window with views out over the desert.
