 | Katherine Kookaburra Backpackers Lodge Reviews | 1 - 2 of 2 | |
Kookaburra Lodge by bluesmama Everyone here were so friendly. A lot of the people here were staying for a longer time because they were working in the mango plantations. The staff was very helpful in booking tours of Katherine Gorge.

This Backpacker's hostel really goes all out to make people's stay comfortable. The people are so nice, and they'll do what they can to answer questions, book things for you, give you advice. Unlike some other hostels I've been in, there is no lockout here - you can get in and out of the hostel at any hour, so you don't have to worry about a curfew. Of course, there isn't really much nightlife in Katherine, so you don't really need to stay out late enough to miss a lockout. The good news is that it is safe enough not to worry that the doors aren't locked!
They offer limited internet access, which is great. You only get like 15-20 minutes, but at least it's something. You can sometimes talk them into a little longer if no one is waiting. They have a pool here as well as BBQ pits. They even sponsor BBQ nights, so it's a great socializing time! It's also an easy walk (5 minutes) to downtown - Woolworths, etc. Expect to pay about AUS$20, US$15, or EUR12.
