    • This is not a new motel but it is located on the southern side of town.
    It has all the basic services and TV channels and staff are very helpful.
    Don't worry about pools in Armidale as temperatures rarely get to the point where you're hanging to go for a dip. More like use them for ice skating in winter!

    • This motel is situated within 500m of the CBD. It's a two level affair and the rooms are well maintained and in good condition.
    You have a multi channel choice on the TV.
    The staff are efficient and professional.

    It also has an indoor pool that, in Armidale, isn't always something you're looking for due the cold climate.
    It's adjacent to the dining room but there is a door between the two so you don't get the smell of chlorine up you nose.
    The dining room is small and cosy for breakfast as they set only part of it due to the lack of patronage but the greater area is often used for dinner.

    • This motel, with all units on the ground floor, is about 2 kms from the CBD, set amongst some trees.
    The glass doors at the rear of the rooms open onto paddock or lawn, depending on which bank of rooms you're staying in.
    The food is usually of a high standard and you can get lamb which happens to be one of my favourites.
    You can have your meals served to your room or take them in the spacious dining room which you can access by a covered walkway.

    • This motel is about the closest to the shopping area.

    Its restaurant has a nice atmosphere but some of the rooms small and some are in need of renovation.
    The staff are friendly and the food acceptable.

    • We had a very pleasant stay at this motel. The rooms were very cosy & warm for a cold winters night in Armidale. They had central heating & reverse cycle air conditioning. Warm doonas on the beds & electric blankets.

    The rooms are very well equipped and decorated.

    The managers at this motel are very friendly, always have time for everyone that passes their door & happy to help in any way.

    The breakfasts are delightful with a lovely wake up call just before they bring them to your room.

    Very close proximity to town, shopping, restaurants and tourist information.

    A dlightfully wonderful coutry motel!

    • Excellent service was provided at this motel for the weary traveller. A nice bright friendly face when we checked in.

    Rooms are tastefully decorated and very clean and comfortable.

    Breakfast was served in room and was of excellent quality.

    Should be rated 5*.

    Could not fault this motel in any way.

    Nice and quiet.

    Close to town.

    Close proximity to restaurants and Tourist Information Centre.

    • Everything here was excellent. Friendly, helpful hosts. Great value for money. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was superb. I would recommend this motel to anyone looking for good quality accommodation without all of the expensive extras.

    This is a well equipped hostel located in the grounds of a large caravan park. However it is a good 2KM out of the town centre.

    I stay here frequently and your hosts, Anne and Mike Thackway, have set this up wonderfully.
    There's a purpose built cottage that sleeps up to 6 in some comfort with lovely rural views off your back balcony. There's also quite a few beds inside the house if you want to bring some friends.
    It's located around 15 kms south of Armidale on the tourist drive.

    Genuine rural atmosphere (pic 3) and, if you're a twitcher, you'll love this place. Over 90 species of birds have been sighted here including the beautifully coloured dollar bird (see pic 5), the only kind of roller bird seen in Australia.
    There's sheep (heaps), cattle (lots) and a few oddities like small ponies (pic 2, alpacas and Scottish Highland cattle. All of these combine to make this a wonderfully relaxing stay and you'll never starve, rather find yourself knocking food back.
