Bundanoon Hotel: Your old style country pub
I've spent a fair bit of time in this pub, what with one thing and another. I used to run poetry readings here, in the quaint wood-panelled-with-log-fire visitor's lounge. I had my 50th birthday party here in a private room off the bistro. If I was waiting for a train I would pop over to the front bar for a nourishing whisky. I've been to a wake here, I've been to soccer and cricket presentation nights. It is one of the centres of local life.
And once I booked a room (without bathroom) because I wanted to go to a girls' night out and the last train home to Wingello leaves very early
It's reasonably cheap. I think the rooms without bathrooms are probably better because added en suites in old style places never fit well. It's a bit shabby but rather charming.
The food's okay, the ambience is pleasant. If you don't want to meet the hoi polloi there's a Saloon Bar. But the front bar (which is very tiny actually) is where it all happens. Where the guys in flannos belly up to the curving bar and the chicky babies play their favourite songs of the juke box. Nice beer garden too.
It's right next to the train line because that's how visitors used to arrive.

Idle-A-Wile Bed & Breakfast Accommodation: A touch of style in B&Bs
The proprietors Stefan & Neville really know how to make you feel welcome. Each bedroom is furnished differently there are 5 double bedrooms. Neville does most of the cooking and leans towards Thai/Asian style. I can recommend this establishment as a delightful place to stay while visiting the Southern Highlands.
Unique Quality: The very ambiance set up by Stefan & Neville makes this a unique experience, homely but stylish. It is in a central location in Bundanoon and within the Southern Highlands.

Unique Quality: Set in a hectare of splendid gardens the Bundanoon Hotel is a major landmark in the Southern Highlands, offering old fashioned comfort and service.
Though Tudor in style it was only constructed in 1921. Recent improvements now make the Hotel a possible venue for business conferences and retreats, weddings, reunions, family get togethers or a quiet few days by the open fire, something you'll appreciate in the chill winters of the Southern Highlands.
Building on a well-established reputation, the Hotel offers 50 well appointed rooms; 19 rooms with modern en-suite facilities; 3 Dining Rooms, a full sized snooker table; an all weather tennis court, swimming pool but no partidges in pear trees.
