Share or not: YHA Coffs Harbour

Stayed at the old YHA and now the new one on numerous occasions.
The staff are great, atmosphere wonderful and location with the Jetty markets and the car park markets close by are great as you have the advantage of a new kitchen to cook up a storm.
This hostel has a mixture of guests, young and wiser and they all seem to enjoy each other's company in the downstairs lounge.
Great pool if you just want to chill after a morning at the beach.
I have stayed in the shared rooms and the family room - both are great.

Unique Quality: Location by the beach

Arrawarra Beach Caravan Park: The Simple Life

We stay here in the waterfront cabins. They are not very big, but we all fit comfortably and it is only for sleeping after all! Most of the time is spent out doors on the beach. The cabins have showers and a toilet, and there are good amenities for caravaners. The camp kitchen is roomy and a great place to chat with other visitors. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Unique Quality: Great views, excellent 'catch up with your family' destination!

Big 4 Emerald Beach Park: New (in 2006) family villas

New family villas (Hibiscus villas) that were clean and functional. About 15-20 mins drive from 'town'. Private electric BBQ pit at patio that we (regrettably) did not make use of.

Spa bath/toilet in main bedroom (literally no partition) was not exactly a good idea. Bedrooms tend to be quite bright early after sunrise without the 'day' curtains.

If you like 'open' spaces and nature, this place is not a bad idea. However, note that the villas were still new when we stayed during then. Paid abt A$200 per villa per night if memory serves me right.

Unique Quality: Bouncy giant pillow was a hit with the kids, so was the pool (small).

Best Western: Best Western

I've forgotten its correct name but will look it up next time. Having said that, it's the only Best Western in Sawtell.

Unique Quality: This is a classic Aussie seaside motel with tiled floors throughout and all the basic kitchen facilities that you might require for a week's holiday with the family or just the two of you.
I love its location. Just 50 metres from the beach and this is a good beach plus, at either end of the beach walk you can ascend to lookouts.
It's fairly inexpensive too and I only paid around $187Aus for two nights including breakfast.

Coco's Beach House: The Glasshouse

A great place to get a group of friends together for a break.
Comfortably sleeps 8 people and has two separate living areas and kitchens.
With a massive balcony catching glimpses of Emerald beach and a huge entertaining area, with hammocks and even a wooden boat hanging from the rafters to relax in.
Make sure you pop into Coffs Harbour RSL for a night of Bingo madness with the locals!

Unique Quality: 100 metres to Emerald Beach
Two seperate kitchens
Tropical Paradise garden
Turkish bath with garden outlook
Massive balcony with Hammocks
Not in the main part of Coffs Harbour
Beautiful walks over the cliff faces

YHA Albany Street in Coffs Harbour
20$ for YHA members.

Unique Quality: Not too big and quite comfy. Though you don't really get to see the staff. So i'm sorry i can't tell if the staff is friendly or helpful at all.
