Lookout Motor Inn: At the top

What makes it special? For a start, it's the only motel in Dorrigo!
The restaurant has a wonderful ambience being done out entirely in wood with high ceilings and a classic wooden fire place for winter (and spring and autumn at times).
Though showing some signs of age the motel certainly has the location factor going for it. Perched on the edge of the plateau the views (and the breeze) are refreshing in the early morning as you swallow your Weetbix (my favourite breakfast cereal).

Unique Quality: Certainly, in my experience at least, I can say with some assuredness that it would be one of the few motels in the world where you can feed the emus, deer and goats before watching a chopper take off to help fight the bushfires.
I also love the bathrooms which have really high ceilings with big sunlights in them.
I think there's also a pool but, hey, that's not why you go to Dorrigo!

Gracemere Grange: Homestays & B&B's

This is as friendly and relaxed an atmosphere as you'll get anywhere but, having said that, most of the B&B's here are great and the countryside's rolling hills and dairy country are a delight to the eye.

Unique Quality: Has a verandah with a gorgeous view over the rolling plateau and a much travelled hostess.
