CRAIGIEBURN CARAVAN PARK: In a beautiful setting
This caravan park has always appealed to me, and I know why, because it set in amongst the huge granite boulders that are common in this area.
The park is set on 40acres, has a 79 year old Church on the property, a permanent stream, and many tracks which I enjoyed following. At dawn and dusk, the Rabbits and Kangaroo's were out grazing.
We had a powered site for the night, which cost $30 for 2 people. The showers were hot, but there was not much room to move to dry yourself. I checked out the camp kitchen, where a Television is located, that looked ok. Wooden bbq's were scattered around the site. Being set well back off the main highway, meant that it was quite quiet at night.
There were Cottages and Cabins available for hire too.
In Summer, there would be plenty of shade, as the tall Poplars would be in leaf, in Autumn, it would be pretty with their leaves turning gold.
We had a good stay here, and would return

Central Motel: Well Worth a Try
We were lucky to score the last available room and one with easy parking. And there was a heater thank goodness. The motel is well appointed and handy to town. An iron if you want to iron and tea making facilities. And we were offered a free soft drink.
Plenty of blankets and the hot water in the shower was hot.
What I did like was that the hand basin was in the main room area and not in with the toilet and shower as is the usual...so much more hygenic.
Well I guess it might be classed as unique as the owner came with us to show us the room and ensure we could work the AC/heater.
There were a number of Austin Healeys gracing the parking area...on the way home from a Queensland car get together...oh yes there were drivers! One car had a rack with a plastic covered suitcase...a good idea I reckon.
We paid $110A for a double in 2012

FOSSICKERS REST CARAVAN PARK: ONE OF THE QUIETER CARAVAN PARKS
This Caravan Park is located in the centre of Town. Situated behind a garage where you receive discount fuel, it is a rather small park with caravan & camping sites, and brick cabins. A back gate makes it a short walk to the supermarket and the main street.
The sites were lawned and you could choose between powered and unpowered. A clean amenities block, Camp Kitchen, BBQ's, Laundry and Free Wifi, plus Pets are allowed on a leash.
We found this to be one of the quieter parks in Glen Innes, as being in the centre of town, the Semi-Trailers have to be travelling slow, making it much quieter. The caravan park is located on the New England Highway, a very busy main route to Sydney.
If we return, this will be the park we will stay at again.
It is a Top Tourist Park, and has won many awards.
