Only 12k out of Grafton you will find The Town That Time Forgot, Ulmarra, and you might like to stay there. You will find some budget rates at the Ulmarra Hotel...plain rooms....share bathrooms.
Across the road from the pub you will find the old Regatta Hotel building which has been renovated to provide slightly longer term accommodation . Then there are a couple of B&B's close by as well.
So if you are coming from the north you will find it easy to turn into River Street or Coldstream Street which are on your right making a loop...on the same side of the highway as the wonderful Clarence River.
So follow this link for now for more
Stayed here for a single night in a nice large family Room. Also has foxtel, undercover parking and a small pool. Not really within driving distance to the main Grafton shops, but close to a smaller shopping centre.
We have stayed at this Caravan park on three different occasions. The first time was for 1 night, the second time for 3 nights, and the last for 6 nights.
Since our last stay, the park has changed hands.
The Caravan park is just on the outskirts of Grafton, with rural land surrounding it.
It is small and still well kept and quite cheap. Amenities were clean with excellent pressure and hot water in the showers. At the back of the Amenities block is the laundry where coin operated washing machines are. An Ironing board is supplied, you have to ask the office for a lend of the Iron. A nice touch, is the supplied wash basket. The machines cost $2.40 a wash in 2013. There are three Rotary wash lines outside.
It was very hot weather while we were here, so we were grateful that there was plenty of shade in the park and a swimming pool. A short walk away is a shop.
There are lots of "permanents" living here, they were quiet and didn't worry us.
The only noise we heard, was the cows next door, mooooooing!
Pets are allowed.
Cabins and on-site Caravans are available for hire.
A powered site is $26 per night for 2 people.
Right near the town centre this pub is a good choice place to stay for the budget minded traveller.
Old fashioned Aussie pub rooms and basic kitchen facilities, wide range of beers and an excellent bistro.
This is a good motel, placed in around the middle of the market. There's a dearth of items when it comes to the mini bar so bring your own if you're into that sort of thing.
The rooms are clean and roomy, the bed comfortable, multi channel TV though, just here and there, there are signs of wear.
I ate here as well and the food was very nice without being sensational.
