More about Lurline House

Really enjoyed our stay

by TripAdvisor Member rataturium

This B and B is a little out of town, but it is very close to the three sisters. It is a great place to stay with a lot of amenities, including hiking information and a great breakfast. If you stay here try dinner at the swiss chalet.

A homely welcoming B&B

by TripAdvisor Member Fifi01

We chose this B&B following the trip advisor reviews. We were not disappointed The location is a little out of town but is in a great location for Echo point and the three sisters. We walked from the B&B to the above within 5mins which saved any issue of parking. The B&B has a large amount of hiking guides available for the guests to use and Peter the host was particularly knowlegable on walks in the area. We were upgraded to a spa room which was spacious and clean and of course had a large spa bath which we enjoyed after a long days hike. Breakfast was great with a good selection of fruits, cereals and various cooked options. In the evening we went to the Swiss Cottage restaurant (Swiss\French style) approx 50mtrs along the road from the B&B and had a fantastic meal. If your lucky you may even catch one of the waiters practicing his magic tricks on the diners.

We stayed at Lurline house in December, and despite the weather, we had a lovely stay. We stayed in the spa room and when it rained, split our time between the DVD library and the spa bath. It was quite romantic and could easily fit two people above average height!

I'd say it's more suitable for a mature audience, and my only down side to the B&B was that we were a bit too young. The three sisters is just a short walk around the corner so the location is perfect and couldn't really be better.

The owners were wonderful and very helpful at all times. A lovely B&B and a great time in the Blue Mountains.

Great stay in a very central location.

by TripAdvisor Member oiwseufrwbfkwjndc

Very central location and easy walk (10-20 minutes) to restaurants and local sites. Easy drive to other great attractions.

Great stay. Clean, spacious rooms with comfy furnishings. We splurged on a room with a jacuzzi and enjoyed the relaxation after a day of long walks.

Really quiet at night. (We were a little concerned as it is on the street to Echo Point, a major tourist attraction. But, our concerns were unfounded.) Woke to the lovely sounds of birds, especially the caliope song of the Currawong.

Great breakfast in a lovely room served by the very gracious hosts. Yummy cold items (fruit, yogurt, cereal and juice) and tastey hot items cooked to order. Tea and biscuits in the room, as expected.

Received excellent advice from hosts on things to do to fit our love of hiking and seeing nature. And, they had nice books of the local area and wildlife which were quite helpful.

If you enjoy hiking, don't miss the Grand Canyon hike (a little strenuous and takes about 4 hours) a short drive away. Also really enjoyed the local walk down the Giant stairs, under the Three Sisters and the hike up by Katoomba falls (again, a little strenuous and takes a few hours).

Husband and I stayed 2 nights. Our only regret was not planning a longer stay.

Beautiful place, awesome breakfast, lovely host

by TripAdvisor Member danedane

I went there with my boyfriend for a trip to Blue Mountain. It's very good location right on Lurline street, around 5 mins drive from Katoomba Train station. The place was awesomely lovely with Victorian Style decor. The room was clean and sunny with separate area of the bathroom. Nice and warm bed, old-style TV (not sure if it's working - but who wanna watch TV). They also had balcony which would be nice for afternoon tea.

The host was friendly and polite. He cooked great - great breakfast. What else? hmm....we just loved it!! it was a great time staying there for two nights.

Wonderful personal service, beautiful room

by TripAdvisor Member shoopi

We stayed here during our honeymoon in one of the spa rooms which had a beautiful four poster bed and scarlet rosella parrots perching just outside our window. Every detail has been carefully thought of from the candles by the spa bath to the chess set and walking guides for guests to use in the lounge. Peter personally cooked our breakfast to order which was fantastic, helped us with advice on everything from the walks and the wildlife to where to eat, and even gave us a lift to the station. Excellent value for money, highly recommended.

Perfect

I stayed at Lurline House with my girlfriend for two nights whilst visiting Katoomba and the Blue Mountains. We felt incredibly welcome and comfortable throughout our stay and appreciated the helpful suggestions for places to eat and visit in the area. Breakfast was presented beautifully and always with a smile. As another review mentioned Crimson Rosellas perched outside our bedroom window, which was just amazing. I think the only way you could improve Lurline House would be to put sausages on the breakfast menu, but even without them I'd come back! Highly recommended!

Perfect B&B!

by TripAdvisor Member challdev

What can we say! What a lovely B&B in perfect surroundings! We stayed here on our first trip to Blue Mountains and it was without doubt, the highlight of our trip. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly and every little detail was very much appreciated, from the cake and tea on arrival, to the books / dvds available to use and of course the beautiful room. Lovely four poster bed and ornate fireplace. Peter even rung around several restaurants for us to get us a dinner reservation. Nothing was too much trouble! The breakfast was divine. All freshly cooked to order by Peter. The property is very well maintained and in a superb location, just minutes walk from the Three Sisters! This is definitely THE place to stay in Blue Mountains!

Best B&B

by TripAdvisor Member Berry-SA

We found this a wonderful, clean, relaxing and friendly B&B. The best we have ever stayed in and will remember this in future trips to Katoomba. The greeting by Peter was very warm and welcoming with coffee/tea and cake on arrival.

HIghly recommended.

Fantastic!

by TripAdvisor Member BluvE

We stayed at Lurline House with another couple and had a lovely time. Peter greeted us with a welcome afternoon tea in the delightfully decorated sitting room (adjoining the breakfast area). Rooms were great. Gorgeous 4-poster bed, clean room and bathroom with spa. Breakfast was delicious and they kept topping up our coffees and supply of toast. Peter was thoughtful, and also very helpful with tourist information. He even let us leave the car in their parking lot after we checked out, while we walked around Katoomba. Highly recommended B&B!
