Peace at the beach!
This place is now called "Mantra Hotel" and is five minutes south of the seaside town of Kingscliff on the northern New South Wales Coast. It is approximately 20 minutes south of the Gold Coast Airport and 45 minutes south of Surfers Paradise.
Can highly recommend staying here at this hotel. All you can hear (if you are not next to the swimming pool ) is the waves of the beach rolling in. There is no traffic to bother you. Hotel and rooms are reasonably new and in very good condition.
There is a great lagoon pool if the pristine beach and surf is not to your liking!
Unique Quality: Pristine beach unchanged by man ......great bar and restaurant here also. Ocean views from most apartments. One bedroom apartments are all fully self contained.
Great little getaway location for some peace and quiet, but with all the luxuries that you may need also!

Modern Beachfront Resort
Note: 2008 ownership has changed hands. Was Outrigger. Now called Mantra.... part of the Stella Group of resorts. Will update tip when more info avbl.
We opted for an apartment with catering facilities (which we did not use at diner time since there were at least five eating options on site). The apartment was basically three rooms - bed room, bathroom with spa bath, & the lounge/dining/cooking area. The aircon unit located in the latter area was sufficient to serve the bedroom as well. All very "new looking" and spic & span.
For those looking to get physical the hotel runs fitness programmes including DT's Ironman Sessions; Learn to Surf Lessons; kayaking and there are bikes, Tennis Racquets and board games for hire. There is a beach side cycle track. There are Low Impact activities - Aqua Aerobics (in the large pool), Stretch & Relaxation Class & Sand Castle Comp & if you are there at the right time Trivia nights (tue) and outdoor concerts.
There are several options for eating with a coffee bar & juice bar for breakfast & light snacks; an Italian restaurant with pizzas, the hotel bistro with a variety of meals and snacks and more up-market, Mahsuri Restaurant with great food with a SE Asian touch (see restaurant tip). On site is a liquor outlet and a convenience store selling everything you need to self-cater. There is also a top class restaurant across the road at Pepper's resort.
