Riverside YHA Backpackers: Adorable hostel on the bend of a river...

The Murwillumbah hostel is a great little YHA run by an utterly nice bloke, Tassie. Tassie’s infinitely friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about the area and is a veritable walking encyclopaedia when it comes to planning activities in the area. The hostel itself is a homely little place having been an old sea captain’s house in years gone by. The facilities and rooms themselves are fairly basic, but it’s really of no worry when then setting is on a quiet bend of a river in a sleepy town. Sat on the veranda you’ve got a beautiful panorama of Mt Warning National park, and if you’re feeling particularly lazy go slouch in the hammock strung up down by the river. There’s also double canoe available to borrow if you want to explore the nooks and crannies along the river. Stay two nights and Tassie is more than happy to give you free return transportation to Mt Warning National Park to climb the peak for some truly awesome views of the area.

Oh, and did I mention free ice cream at 21:00 each night?

A Hostel and the place in the real nature

If you worked enough on the farm with WWOOFing you will sleep good. In usually in the middle of the winter a littlebit cold to be on a farm, but around 9 o'clock , you get enough sushine for work and look around in the nature. We enjoyed the work too, because this is not an exactly hard work, you still have time for fun. You just need a nice farm owner.
