Fabulous views.

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)

This is a great hotel overlooking the ocean. Although not beachfront, there is a road to cross over it has incredible ocean views.

The hotel room is the normal you would expect from this sort of establishment. I remember it being on the large size with all modern facilities. The hotel is in a good trendy area of Newcastle and is in easy walk to everything. It is a must if stopping over or visiting Newcastle.

PROS: Beautiful sweeping views of coastline and beaches. Close to everything..ie beaches, shops and restaurants. Car parking available with no extra cost.

CONS: No balcony.

RECOMMENDATION: Absolutely

Beach Yourself at Noah's on the Beach

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on April 5, 2005

Yes it's sure easy to take the above advice.

This has to be in the absolute Prime spot in Newcastle, overlooking the main Newcastle Beach

Have worked at Worskhops twice here in the last 4 years & have also stayed here twice during that time so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to travellers wanting a beautiful spor to base themselves for a few nights to discover Newcastle on foot while ducking across to have a swim at the beach in the morning and/or the afternoon.

Unique Quality: The great views are a definite plus. The first time I stayed here I had an ocean view room which was just beautiful to look out over the beach from.

This trip I was given a Harbour view room & it was a very nice view to with an interesting perspective. From its balcony (small one though) I took the main photo for this Newcastle page, looking back down the Hunter River & over the city. While my Fort Scratchely photo was taken looking in the opposite direction.

Treat yourself & stay here a couple of nights.

By the sea

There used to be two motels on the northern headland of Newcastle Beach.
Poor planning, in my opinion, has allowed the furthest one to be torn down and replaced with a block of flats.
Noah's is all that remains. May it remain forever although constant wearing by salt is an ongoing problem.

Unique Quality: Imagine waking up in the morning looking out over the Pacific Ocean, watching the surf roll in as the early morning board riders strut their stuff. The views don't get much better than from the balconies on the ocean side.
There's also a function room which is often in demand for weddings etc.
