Here is a map of the Hunter Valley - 3hrs north of Sydney. You can do the wineries here on a day trip from Sydney or do what we did, stay for a week and savour the great wines, cheeses, food, gardens and countryside in the area. I have lots of lovely memories of the Hunter Valley to share with you and I hope my tips are helpful.
If you are travelling by car from Sydney, perhaps on the way back, take a detour and go the Wisemans Ferry way. It is a lovely scenic way to go and this is the beautiful view from the ferry. It takes you across the Hawkesbury river..
The Hunter Valley is a 2 hour drive north of cosmopolitan Sydney. There is so much to do in the Valley that it is hard to know where to start.
