The Edgewater Holiday Park is located beside the Hastings River, absolute waterfront.

The park has heaps of different Cabins ranging from basic upwards. The Caravan/camping area was in the centre, a lawned area close to the Amenities block for everybody. The Amenities were clean, but had quite a few faults. Doors wouldn't shut properly, if you were larger then normal, then you probably wouldn't fit in the changing room area of the Shower cubicle! The showers hardly had any pressure and were not the best!
I did the washing here at the coin operated machines in the Laundry. This was the most expensive I have come across, $5 a wash!

The worst experience happened to our nice neighbor. They arrived about 3.30pm. Come night time, they chained their bikes to a tree. At 11.30pm, the gentleman heard noises and couldn't see anything, at midnight, he heard noises again and still couldn't see anything. In daylight, he awoke to find bolt-cutters must have been used to cut the chain and to steal his $1800 bicycle. It really seems like it was an inside job! The office woman wasn't interested, and when he asked at a Pawn shop, they asked if he was from the caravan park, signaling things have been stolen there before. In 9 hours, this had happened!

The park had a swimming pool, playground and a rather run down mini golf course. It had a jetty, this too needed looking at before too long!
The park was quiet even though located on the main road approx. 3kms from the centre of Port Macquarie.

My opinion - I wouldn't stay here again.

Mid Pacific Motel: Good accommodation in a great location

Don't let the old exterior of the building put you off, the rooms are excellent.

The motel is in a great location, the rooms are large and well equipped. Plenty of new fluffy towels, full toiletries in the bathroom, iron & board, even a kitchenette.

A great location right on the river adjacent to the tour boat and seaplane docks on one side and the town centre with its cafes, restaurants and shops on the other.

A beautiful sub-tropical garden with pool, tennis court and BBQ area.

River views from all room.

Port Pacific: First Class Resort

Our 7 day stay at Port Pacific was most enjoyable, it is a quality resort with excellent apartments, plenty of resort activities for adults and children including two very nice swimming pools (one for small children), indoor spa and suana rooms, tennis court, games room with pool tables, electronic machines, BBQ area near pool etc. Also included was underground security parking.
Most importantly the staff were very helpful, our one bedroom apartment was well furnished, had two bathrooms, very large lounge and dining room with sliding doors onto a balcony with views over the Hastings River. A modern fully equiped kitchen completed the apartment. We were on the 4th floor which gave us magnificent views, also a view of the swimming pool below but far enough away to avoid the noise.
The resort is located on the edge of the town's central shopping district, 5 minute walk to the river , cafes, supermarket and shops, and a 10 minute walk to the ocean and Town Beach.
We most certainly will return to this resort. This resort is also available to Time Share Exchange members and we used our RCI Timeshare membership to obtain a week's exchange at a cost of approximatelt Au$150 for the week. Accommodation is available to non members on a daily or weekly basis with cost varying with the season and I think a one bedroom apartment ranges from Au$800 to $1200 per week.

Very nice apartments, friendly staff, walking distance to town centre, river and ocean.

YHA: Another YHA

Have to say all YHAs in Australia that I have been are really good. This goes for YHA Coffs Harbour as well. This one has two buildings, one of them is an appartment (really nice)with double romms. If you're lucky you hva the whole house by yourself.
