pet friendly accommodation with views in Port Macquarie

Hi,
heading up to Port Macquarie for a week in August, with our little dog, and are looking for pet friendly self-catering accommodation in the area, hopefully with a view! Does anyone have a suggestion?

I’d check out the website http://www.bookitnow.com.au/ for more listings for hotels in the area. Many should list whether they take pets, are self-catering, and well the view they advertise that usually! If you doubt or don’t know about the pet thing remember to call or e-mail to check and find out for yourself.

We had a ride in the historic steam train and jostled along the streets of yesteryear in the wonderfully restored Cobb & Co. coach.

We saw, heard, touched, smelled, and tasted - experienced and learned of the thrills and trails that forged the hearts and spirits of all Australians. We tasted the flavours of mouth-watering, fresh country fare as we relaxed in the authentic bakery and traditional tearoom.
Besides all this the town features a working dairy farm, the Big Bull that is open to the public. The farm features an animal nursery, restaurant, hands-on milking displays, rides for the kids and of course a 14m high replica "Big Bull".

Moonrise over Perpendicular

When I'm in Port I usually try to do a bit of fishing and, if I'm not on the wall at the river mouth, you may well find me at Perpendicular Point. Now, that just happens to be at Donbogan which is a little south of Port but that doesn't stop it from making it worth your while.
There is a nice 1.7km walk out to a lookout point near the end of the point and, while I'm walking out there or walking back I often regret not taking my camera. On this occasion, laden with fishing gear, I stuffed my el cheapo digital camera in my pocket just in case.
As you can see, I have reason to be glad. Blessed with a magical moonrise I snapped off a shot and this is the result.
