I'm going to be spending two weeks in June in Sydney for business. I'd much rather stay in an apartment for that length of time than a hotel. I know about vrbo.com. Can anyone recommend other apartment rental websites? Thanks!

You should find something one these two websites:

http://www.sydneyservicedapartments.net/
What is your budget, anyway?

Hi Lynn, I forgot that you are in Sydney! I paid $220 AU for my hotel room last week so if I come in under that I think I'll save money since we won't have to always eat out. I'd like two bedrooms but one bedroom with a sofa bed will work too. My sister is going with me.

Hi
Have a look at the websites I sent- June is winter here in Sydney (not a great month for tourism) so you should get something cheaper.
Let me know exactly what date you arrive - maybe we can have a coffee or lunch.

I sure will! Thanks a lot. It looks like we should be able to find something good for that price.

I stayed in Napolean on Kent for about $120 per night for a 1 bedroom apartment, quite spacious and even had a view of the water. A bit weird being under the expressway, but the room was quiet, near darling harbour and the railway station, coles.
Travel Tips for Sydney
No Jet Lag
by keida84
No Jet Lag: I found this product at Trader Joe’s market and purchased it through Magellan’s travel catalog. It is a homeopathic remedy (it does not interfere with any prescription drugs you take, and I take some pretty heavy duty prescriptions.) You take 1 pill on take off and 1 every 2 -4 hours of flight time then one on landing. I was amazed that I had no signs of jet lag when we finally arrived in Sydney. We used it returning as well and neither of us suffered that extreme burned out, spacey feeling that comes with long haul travel.
Now remember, always check with your physican about any medications that you take. This product may not be suitable for you.
Take the Manly Ferry from...
by steve2648
Take the Manly Ferry from circular Quay on a sunny day (there are lots) to Manly and walk along the Corso to the beach, stroll to North Queenscliff and return for lunch at one of the sidewalk cafes or resturants overlooking the sea. Driving up to Whale Beach on one of Sydneys Crystal clear mild winter days days, parking the car and walking the cliff top coast road to Palm Beach for lunch. See how the wealthy live in paradise.

N.S.W. Art Gallery
by iandsmith
The gallery is housed in a purpose built neo classical style building in the Domain, one of Sydney's famous parks. On your way you'll pass Goodwin's sculpture from 1986 (pic 3) that can be interpreted in many different ways but when you reach the entrance, on your left is a statue of man on horse with a somewhat poignant message enscribed around the base. It reads, "The real and lasting victories are those of peace, not war" and is by Gilbert Bayes of England in 1923 (pic 2). The façade and old wing of the Gallery were built between 1896 and 1909. Architecturally, Sydney's Art Gallery reflects nineteenth century ideas about the cultural role of a gallery as a temple to art and civilizing values. Yet early designs for the Gallery were less confident about the institution's role and image. The present building is the work of Government Architect Walter Liberty Vernon. The painting by Arthur Stretton in pic 4 is interesting. Arthur was sitting sketching the Lapstone Tunnel being created when they set off a blast. A boy was injured and some shrapnel from the blast ended up on Stretton's painting. He painted over the shrapnel so it is still embedded to this day. The tryptych in picture 5 is interesting as is the artist's name, Cy Twombly. Inspired by Turner's "The Fighting Temeraire tugged to her last berth to be broken up", he has utilized ships from a different era, probably Roman, as he actually lives in Gaeta, an ancient port city south of Rome. The painting is titled, "Three studies from the Temeraire. I was attracted to, but still can't work out, the Bugatti distorted on its side. It fascinates me the minds of some of these people that dream this stuff up. This one is usually housed towards the rear of the main foyer area where you walk in. The good news is that the gallery is free except for special exhibitions.
Boy does it Rain
by mccrorj
If like me you grew up with pictures of bronzed beauties always on the beach beware it does rain in NSW and how. I come from the West Coast of Scotland a country renowned for its precipitation and I was shocked to see the volume of water that can fall from the sky. In all seriousness it made driving conditions almost impossible. This I suspect is particularly true in their winter months, I was there in late november. You have been warned take a raincoat, particularly in the winter months.
