Coogee Beachside Hostel

Backpackers Close to Beach and Nightlife

This hostel is on the main street in the seaside suburb of Coogee. It is on the south side of Sydney. On my previous visits I always stayed on the northern suburbs. Coogee is very close to Sydney airport. It is easy to take a bus from the airport or to the city center. The hostel was very clean, including the showers. Kitchen was spot on and had plenty of fridge space. Front desk staff were curt and functional. They could lighten up a bit. The location is the selling point. You are a five minute walk to Coogee Beach, all shops, restaurants, and Coogee Bay Hotel, the main hotel venue for drinking and music. If they are full they have another location two doors up the street.

Unique Quality: No view but a nice backyard area to barbecue at and have your drinks. Coin laundry with dryer and outside lines to hang clothes.
