Eva's
As a poor college student this was a godsend. I was fortunate enough that we had enough people to fill a ten person room so I wasn't sharing with strangers. It was still a great affordable option after paying so much in flight costs. They have a public phone and TV on site I believe in the common area. There are also picnic tables and a GREAT view from the roof of Sydney. Hopefully I can upload some of those shots soon.

i'll stay again
i'm really happy with my stay at Eva's; it's clean and safe and quite at night. the bathrooms are clean- with tissue paper and towels and soap; kitchen is available all the time and there are security cameras as well; breakfast included in the price
some rooms have private bathrooms
Unique Quality: i liked the location ! very close to downtown and the botanical gardens (10min or so); i was told that Kings Cross is a bad place to stay, but Eva's is at quite street close to Victoria street which i happen to like a lot
oh, of course it has the greatest view from the rooftop

Looking for a cosy, friendly and clean hostel?
When you visit Sydney for the first time, stay here!!! It's better to stay outside the city-centre to enjoy the city-view from the rooftop and discover the surroundings by walking through the Botanic Gardens to the city centre. This way you see the beautiful skyline, have a nice walk through the gardens (nice view of the Opera House and the bridge) and grab a hotdog at the famous Hotdog-cafe Harry cafe de Wheels (see other diner tip!).
We had a pleasant and restfull stay, with clean bathrooms and a comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpfull staff.
Unique Quality: * Nice (normal) room, with fan and good lock.

* close to the subway Kings Cross

Friendly backpackers in Kings X
Eva's is a friendly backpackers in the King's Cross area, where most budget places are located. Their dorms are comfy enough and the shared bathrooms clean. It's not a new place, but it's well-managed. Its biggest assets are the great atmosphere and the rooftop terrace with BBQ places and great views over Sydney.
Beds cost from 22$ a night, breakfast included, which makes it slightly more expensive than other places in the area and keeps the riff-raff away.
There's free internet, too.

Great backpackers
Eva's is a friendly place in King's Cross area. You can choose between different size dorms and twins/doubles. All are brightly painted, have comfy beds and each bed has it own little lamp (very helpful!).
Breakfast (cereals/toast, coffee/tea) is included as is internet access.
Cash payment is NOT accepted.
Unique Quality: Roof terrace with great view. Unfortunately it closes already at 11pm...

Sydney's Best Hostel
When we first arrived in Sydney, we stayed in Kings Cross, which is something that has to be seen in Sydney.
Eva's Backpackers are based just off the main strip, yet they have a very safe, clean, friendly and warm atmosphere to offer. This is especially good for those that are just off a plane!
They provide free extra linen at any time unlike other hostels and are quite reasonably priced given their location, you'll find it hard to get any better in Sydney City Centre!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Dorms $20; twins & doubles $50. 7th night free during winter. Book ahead.
