More about Hotel 59 Sydney
Good Hotel in Kings Cross Sydney
by pedromartina about Hotel 59
Stayed at small family run Hotel 59 for 2 weeks over New Year 2009/2010. On the edges of Kings Cross but near enough to CBD (central Sydney) to walk there and back but the bus and train connections are on the door step.
The owner, George, was a mine of information and gave us so much information about Sydney we did not need a guide book!!
Clean, bedding and towels changed daily and the price included a very good (and I mean very good) breakfast which was chosen from the menu in the small cafe underneath the hotel.
Very much recommended. Well situated for local transport, shops and beautiful park and marina nearby.

Another question....which is the best location to stay at in Sydney for being able to access the main tourist sites...is it Kings Cross,Darling Harbour or somewhere else? Any advice would be great.

Yes i do me the opera house/bridge, we are only in sydney for 5 days and want to do as much as possible, so the less time spent on public transport the better. Ive seen CBA on a lot of posts, what does it mean?

We stayed in Kings Cross and found it very easy to get into the center of Sydney by bus. The B&B we stayed in, Hotel 59, was very convenient and reasonably priced--the proprietor is super friendly and the breakfasts are very nice. It was about a four-minute walk to the metro stop, and right on a bus line that went straight to downtown. We also walked in--it was a nice, maybe 45-minute walk to the botanical gardens.

I would stay in Darling Harbour. It is a great part of the city and has a good vibe. You can get ferries that go under the Harbour Bridge and around into Circular Quay from Darling Harbour and it has a great selection of restaurants. The city is right there and so is the monorail.
It is one of my favourite places to take visitors to.

So far, the best place to stay for me (when you want to be among the top tour spots of sydney, including opera house/harbour bridge) would be that in Sovereign Inn Crows Nest in Sydney. If you want to check more details, go to sovereigninnsydney dot com.
